The Old Folks Home

time change was for farmers that had children that worked the fields with them how often does that happen now?
Actually not:

The whole thing is stupid. Instead of changing the clocks people and businesses can decide what they want their work hours to be. Lots of businesses aren't "9 to 5" anyway. Open at whatever hours are convenient, close likewise.
:weeToday was like Christmas! Custodial swept and mopped my office last night. Sweeping happens rarely. This is the first time I remember them mopping and I have been here for 24 years!

Usually we have to pay $700.00 to have the floors waxed
Guess the CA Taxpayers need to up their donation so the university can afford better floor cleaning service!

Where I worked we had carpets in the offices, "tile" in the hallways. The hallways were done at night weekly, waxed monthly. The offices were vacuumed I THINK once a month. But there was a vacuum we could use to do it ourselves if we were out (and therefore the door locked) on vacuum day.

Heading south tomorrow to help a BYH friend move household stuff from MS to their new house in FL. If you don't hear from me I'm (probably) still alive. Won't likely be able to keep up or catch up so don't let anything super important happen!

I still don't see how it's possible to save that much energy with daylight savings time. Maybe in Germany, it did. That doesn't mean it had the same effect here.
It doesn't. The lights you don't turn on at night have to be turned on in the morning instead. And the link I posted said in warmer places the "extra" hour meant more A/C usage. No energy savings, in fact it can increase usage.

Saw something yesterday that surprised me. I buy my chicken feed at MFA unless I'm at Orscheln's and they have a sale that is too good to pass up. I was dumping a bag of MFA layer pellets and noticed on the bag that they had a sticker that said This feed has been sampled by the Dept of Agriculture. Really? Whow! I was impressed. They even had a phone number I could call to ask questions.

Anybody ever ran into that before?

As for the time change, our male dog, Buck loves going out with me twice a day to gather eggs and take care of his ''chickie birds" which is the name he knows them by. He lays patiently with his nose against the wire door and it's too funny to watch a tiny bantam hen go up to the door and stand with her beak against the wire on one side with a doggie nose on the other side against the wire.

That dog was so confused with this last time change. I usually go out at sunset to check water and food and gather eggs. 5 pm rolled around, Buck looked at the window, realized the sun hadn't set, looked at me, looked back outside and went and set by the door.

And they say dogs can't tell time.
