The Old Folks Home

Woke up feeling better. Neck pain is subsiding along with the swelling so plus plus. Annnnnd..........TRex had a 3 out of 4 egg successful hatch. One egg was an early quitter, less than 5 days gestation. No fault of mamma. Just a bad egg. The chicks look like they may have silver duck wing blood in them I hope! Got mamma and babies moved to the broody pen without bloodshed although @bruceha2000 was right on the mark when he said she would be even more ferocious with babies. She was. She was pretty good until I put one chick in the broody pen nest area and then plopped her down. From that point on she was charging me with every movement.

Good to know she is an aggressively protective mom. I guess I'm used to my hens being trusting and complacent with me.

We're still having wonky weather. I mowed yesterday (warm) and by night we were having a cold steady rain that's still going at it this morning. Not complaining! It's great for keeping the dust and pollen down. The air is so fresh!

Yeah... arthritis sucks.

My arthritis is nowhere as bad as @microchick but anyway....

My spouse has decided to have me try CBD oil.

Just started Sunday night..... so no report yet.... but it is SUPPOSED to greatly reduce inflammation.

So I am hoping it will kick in and reduce the inflammation so my knuckles stop growing and the pain goes down some. Sure would be nice. :idunno

Not sure it would help you at all... but there are some actual scientific papers out on it now.
I have been using CBD oil for a while now. It does help with pain and inflammation.

Good news on the neck pain!

How long before you could tell a difference?
It takes a bit to get the dose right for you. When it works, you will feel a big drop in anxiety-- like a quick calmness. That will the the dose you want to use and repeat two to three times a day. I notice that my hands are less stiff after several days
