even in the small cases..... The prosecutor Said that he was going to prove that she Willfully ...blalbalbla.... Waiving his arms dramatically... The public defender Pointed out the circumstances and the life path....

@ronott1 - after years of working in the courts I’m used to cases like this. I wonder if it would be different if I sat on a jury. The prosecutor paints the most horrifying picture of the crime, and all you can do it sit and listen. Seems like the details are inflicted on the jurors. Hard to do.
I would guarantee you would not have been picked for this one. About 500 people were called with 18 on panel- 12 jurors and 6 alternates

That is sad!

So much drama for something like that

There should be a way to get that done before heading into court. There was one person on this one in a similar situation, a wife whose husband had some type of dementia did stuff like get out and wreck the car. She was excused but should not have had to even show up.
I didn't go anywhere...just filled out a paper explaning why I couldn't. :). That was that. Excused...after I wrote in. :p

Sorry this discussion brought up a bad memory.

:hugs
Its ok I just learned that I cant trust alcaholic neighbors to do simple tasks that I paid for... Their mistakes were my responsibliity.... I paid a fine and learned my lesson.

Petunia and Wild Child wound up getting adopted....
