The Old Folks Home

Quote: Weight loss only results if calories in is less than calories out-- you can still eat enough non wheat foods to gain weight. Have you added in more salad greens? We eat a lot , did I spell it right? lol, of greens. So many choices in the fresh food sections these days.
If socks are larval hangers, why am I always running out of hangers? Or do they just have a short lifespan? I'm going to need a lot more socks, then. And it's "a lot" there is no "alot" in the English language. I'll go put my nerd away, now. And try to get back to work.
Haaahaa, I keep breaking hangers these days. No more hangers from Walmart, I pick them up at the juction of the hanger and body and it snaps! Huh? Too cheap! THe inside is hollow---no wonder it snapped.

Since moving to Mass, I can hear many different regional dilects, and generationa ones too. I listen to a woman that works at the libarary tell stories about animals and it is like listening to my aunt. Clearly they both grew up in this town. I only hear this manner of speech here.

My favorite will always be the downeast Maine accent-- my father had it, slightly compared to some. But still amusing to listen too. ( I don't have a Maine accent- in case you were interested. lol)

Too tired to catch up-- sorry about the death in families, dogs running amok and too much good wine. See you in the morning.

I'm feeling old and achy this afternoon. One of my cousins needed help moving and we all gathered to help. The first thing I grabbed, someone else helped me with it, but when we were putting it in the UHaul, I hurt my back and paid for it from then on. I don't mind getting old, it's just the not being able to do stuff that bothers me! LOL

Sheesh, i can relate with you both. Sun is up again, weather is nice and so much backlog of things that need to be done. I almost have everything caught up to March. Just a little more til I am back on track.... The missus asks why I push myself, but she knows the answer......

Pain is my friend and I have learned to share my body with it.
Yes, we get older and yes we pay for all the fun and dumb stuff we put our bodies through. I still go at it like I am young, just slower, more forgetful and marvel that I still try and do things I should not do. This AM Mr Arron (74) and I went to get more hay for our horses. The farmer, Joe Allen, we get if from is 82 and still can throw if from the upper floor, 6 to 8 feet out from the building unto the trailer. Arron and I still left and carry 50 to 75 pds each. Afterwards the three of us, just sit, talk and let out soft moans. They have told me, what I always believed and that is never stop moving..... We get older and slower but the spirit is still strong. As the saying goes, "If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of my body." But who are we kidding, laughs. I wouldn't change a thing from my past. Ok, maybe the marriages and other dumb stuff, but not the fun, adventure, trips and pushing myself to the limits.

Ok, enough from the old guy, glad things are getting back to normal for most of you. Sorry for any loses and I just hope everyone enjoys what life is giving them.

Greyes, you watch yourself and those wines. I use to set up the phones and puters for the Temecula Wine and Balloon fest. I always ended up with many cases of the local wines and know that a little wine can really go far. laughs.. 2nd worse hangover after Scotch....

And to you all, My younger chicks would never eat me, that is until maybe the dogs took the first bite.

Depending on the weather I may be MIA until I am caught up. Spring is one of the busiest times for me, with the garden, reseeding the pastures, repairing winter damages, etc. So, Know I may lurk or miss some days but I am still around.

aren't you guys lucky?????

Oh, Tick, you will not be able to stay away from us, and you know it. Go ahead and get caught up, but at night, after your shower, while you are waiting for your ibuprophen to kick in, we'll be here.......

Happy St. Patrick's Day...let's go green...type in green for they hey of it. :)

Hope everything has settled down a bit. So much going on.
SCG..has your stomach settled yet? :)

No more missing dogs? Or chickens? Or turkeys?

It's raining a bit here today. Off and on. How about where you are DiDi? I guess it's supposed to for the day like this. Some through the night too. A bit chilly. Glad it will be going back up this week.

So far I have five chicks out and one more pipped. I have quite a few more to go so hoping this is just a drawn out hatch. It looks like Joe and Not Joe might be the busy boys of the flock. I think all five chicks are black. I do have black hens too but some of the eggs were brown (all of my black hens are AM's) so I think the black roo's are winning the day. It would be nice if some of them were a different color

The weather here has been partly cloudy, somewhat windy and cooler. Definitely not as nice a day as yesterday but still a good amount above freezing so I am not complaining. We might see some rain but so far none for us.

We'll be under a winter weather advisory starting tomorrow night and going until late Tuesday night. 6+ inches of snow predicted. I don't care, I'm still starting my tomatoes tonight.

I'll actually play well with others and type in green.
