But I am a bit tired also, what do I know? DD had a spike horn buck hit the right front of her van today and mess it up a fair bit. Hood and both side doors are messed up, it cracked the windshield also. I had to set up the Cleaning station a bit early this year. Back-strap and eggs in the morning!!

Gone for a few days and come back to 151 posts! Wow! And yes I read them all just to catch up. My kids were on fall break from school, so with 5 kids around its hard to find time to get on the computer. Actually, I'm lying....all my kids went out of town to their grandparents house for fall break. Me and the husband had the place all to ourselves all week! Therefore, I had no time to get on the computer lol. Almost like our 2nd honeymoon only better, since the 1st one we actually spent at my parents house hahahaha

I am not getting a flu shot and neither are my kids, we like our toes straight.

I have not swallowed a bug, but have had them fly up my nose repeatedly as we have gnats here horribly.

Will probably never eat seaweed.

Have hit a deer in a brand new 3 week old car once years ago. Had less than 200 miles on it and had never even paid the first payment. I now hate deer!

I'm taking a weekly sewing class. Next week's class is making a pair of pillowcases. I went to Mardens (surplus and salvage but usually a great selection of fabric) and only had 10 minutes before they closed. I wasn't too inspired in those 10 minutes and then I saw the line for fabric cutting and skedaddled. I wasn't getting out of there in 10 minutes. Then I went to Joann Fabrics which is right down the road and open longer.
Now my teacher told me not to get anything that only goes one way (ie when you turn it everything is sideways). Turns out that's apparently the type of fabric that I like best when I'm told I can't have it. I don't really care one way or another, but she does, so I'll obey the rules for now.
I was in a bit of a rush because I had to go home to tend to the chickens (I got chewed out by my showgirl for getting home as late as I did - she can't get up on the roost and waits at the gate for me to pick her up and carry her inside like the princess that she is... but I digress) I found this:
http://www.joann.com/novelty-quilt-prints-heavy-equipment/12509592.html

And was really sad that it is directional. I'd love to show up to class with that fabric to make a pillowcase out of . There's apparently a whole line of "heavy equipment" fabric to go along with it, too.

I know BF won't enjoy it for our own bed, but I'm thinking Christmas presents!
Oooo!!!..for those of you that sew...get out your old flat sheets....or go to the thrift store and find some. I use them to make extra pillow cases, or aprons, or any projects requiring lots of cheap usable and sometimes pretty material. Thrift stores are also great for finding yard goods. When older ladies move on to nursing homes etc...their relatives usually donate their sewing supplies. I have found many yards of never used yard goods.

Speaking of swallowing bugs - were we?

I was thinking about stainless steel mesh sink strainers. Okay so everyone doesn't do that.  If they could fashion them to fit the average human mouth - they would be great as bug strainers - no more swallowed stink bugs, flies, gnats etc. Maybe I could get this patented.   Also nostril strainers because I have had gnats fly in my nose and I couldn't  get them out with Kleenex. I hope they didn't migrate to my brain. But who knows.

SCG OMG I never knew Jo Ann had fabrics like THAT - do you think they are in the store also???? Maybe hidden in the back near the restrooms. I can't sew but, maybe I could staple a pair of curtains, pillow covers, even one of those long sleeved recreational suits .

You can use the store locator thing to see if it's in a store near you. A green zero means it's available in that store (they don't keep track of the yardage available online) and a red unavailable is the other, obvious, option.
It's an Alexander Henry fabric theme, so you will be able to find it in other fabric stores, too. It's legit. They have cowgirl pinups, too, and I want that but Joann's doesn't have it. Right now, though, you can buy one yard, get one yard free, through tomorrow at Joann's.
Wisher - where did you find the sheep fabric?

During bug season here I could use this for my eyes as well as my nose and mouth. When it gets really bad I have a bee hat that I wear outdoors with the strainer basically over my entire head. I'm still a bit terrified that something will get in it from the bottom near the neck where it's not really tight, and then I'll have a major scary bug in face issue, but so far it's been safe.

Maybe we could also patent these for siblings of meaner, older, bigger, siblings? You know, to reduce horsepoop-mouth situations.
