The Old Folks Home

I have discovered how much time away from BYC I suffer, now that I have some of my flock at their new location on "Thistle Dew Ranch" property. It's not all that time-consuming to check on feed, water, security - but I do have to commune with both flocks, k'now! Everybody over there is a youngster, nowhere near as accustomed to my presence as the older members of the flock staying here. (Seniority has its rights.) It takes time to build rapport. BOSS helps.

There are approximately ten more birds HERE to move over, plus six cockerels temporarily housed with HHandbasket's flock. Mine are tree and/or rafter roosting youngsters which I cannot reach without assistance. So their relocation has been delayed until I can schedule some friends taller than me to capture 'em.

Then there are these two spoiled ladies.

I bet your new "home" is very peaceful and visiting the new arrivals is a delightful repreve from your neighbors. As for gettting the birds down, I hear you. I would loan you my husband as he is handy for reaching the high up birds.

First letter resulted in a denial. Working on drafting a second letter, which goes to a totally different board. THere is hope, but in the mean time I am running on nothing, and it takes 3 full weeks on the TT to get back to full function.

Thanks for the support Ron.
Arielle, you might see if your Dr. could contact the manufacturer of the med you need and see if they will donate it to you.
My mother had some of her meds donated to her. But the Dr. has to ask for it.

Quote: THere in lies the rub. THis has always been compounded for me, a specific mix of the 4 hormones to specifically match my needs.

I would be happy with anything bio-identical at this point.

I am sorry Arielle, I hope the Ins. co. or your Doctors can help you get what you need!

If you can't get the prescription you need, you might want to explore the herbs that have long helped women of a certain age. Many women swear by black cohosh, for example.
Yes, that is a good one.

I have tried two local pharmacies to get topical progresterone cream. THen asked at the counter when I couldn't find it after 15 minutes in the aisle. FIrst woman in a lab coat acted like I was asking for a prescription drug without a prescription. WOn't ever got here again. THen wnet to the CVS, and a friend was tending the in-coming window. So I asked. SHe wasn't aware of it . BUt pulled out her ipod and looked up preogesterone on line and found oodles of OTC cream. I used to have a lotion from Bed Bath and Beyond.

I will go to my compounding pharmany, they have the progesterone creme. OTC.

As a complete ignoramus in the realm of compounding, I am wondering if you can get each of the ingredients separately and use a formula from the doctor to make your own mix?

Off subject, just wanted to let everyone know that my dad went for his 2nd skin cancer removal surgery Tuesday and they got it all this time!! I am so happy! Saw him yesterday for my daughter's 6th birthday and he looked good. I'm so thankful to everyone that prayed for him.
