And on the usually freezing side of the country, we had a high of 54 today and RAIN. And flooding. So much flooding. There was a foot and a half of water in some of our parking lots at work today because all the drains were clogged with snow/slush/ice chunks. The facilities crew did an excellent job of getting us notified to move our cars before it got into the engine/interior and got the drains unplugged quick.
Whatever warm front blew through here is going away quickly, tonight, and we'll be back down into the teens, which means that all the glare ice that we have now from rain on top of packed snow is going to be delightful in the morning. It will seem like the plow and sand/salt trucks will instead be Zambonis.
Because of all the melting and rain my garage flooded today. What was melting and what was coming down found the path of least resistance into the garage. I spent the last 2 hours doing civil engineering work - building canals through the ice and shuttling water from the garage to the canals and down the hilly driveway. We have about 3 inches of packed ice that I had to hack through with a hammer, crowbar and shovel. I was going to work out today on the treadmill, but naaaah I'm bushed.
Stay warm, y'all. I feel bad for those of you that aren't used to it.
