I'm afraid to ask what super cold is??? I wish you guys could find a nice peaceful, secluded area that has nicer weather. There must be somewhere, more temperate. I worry about you guys
.
We had a record breaking winter - 3rd.snowiest since records were kept, longest below freezing spell, longest below zero spell, etc. etc. I was shoveling every day - I really love shoveling if I can take my time. I still finish before the neighbors with snow blowers because they have to walk slowly or have them choke up. Just gets to the point there is no where to stack the snow - I'm almost 5' tall and can't throw it very high. But we have close neighbors and the village plow comes through as needed and dumps all the snow at the foot of the driveway. The road ends in our driveway but, they said they can't maneuver the curve with the big plow. We are at the end of dead end street.,even when there is only a few inches of snow , by the time he reaches the end of the block - he has quite a pile to leave for me.
We came from Chicago, so even though there are 8 houses on our block - it seems out in the country to us. Plus our village is mostly forest preserve . The main roads are usually pretty clear/salted by early morning so you can get out if you feel like it. I'm old so hibernate, meaning sleeping most of the day.,about 9-10 mos. of the year - hate summer (too hot). Some years we skip spring but, fall is pretty nice. Don't mind winter except for ice/slippery -awful. I keep better with refrigeration.
Have you every considered areas in Washington, or thereabouts? Still seems to be a lot of places with the seclusion you crave and actual growing seasons and stuff.
