Wisher... congrats to your son and deer is delicious. I just finished off the last of our deer chili this afternoon.
A little bit of incubator update, I'll keep it brief.
I split the shipped eggs fairly evenly between the
Brinsea and the new LG. When uneven numbers and it fit, the extra went into the
Brinsea. The
Brinsea also got most of the (few) test eggs from my flock that I threw in to check for rooster effectiveness since I knew the
Brinsea would be an accurate representation of actual fertility rate. I think I only put one in the LG.
The
Brinsea had 25 eggs to start. Removed 6 today on candling for absolutely zero development. 76% development.
The LG had 15 eggs to start (well 16 but one ended up leaking the first day, sticking to the bottom rack and breaking when I tried to turn it, so I'm excluding that from the statistics). Removed 4 today on candling for absolutely zero development. 73% development.
I'd say at this point there's no significant statistical difference between the two incubators, considering the eggs weren't entirely equal. Most of the eggs that didn't develop were the leghorn eggs that I had shipped. Go figure. I let the seller know she likely sold me duds. Removing the leghorn eggs from the equation entirely since they were obviously duds, I had a 93% overall development from my eggs. Can't beat that.
