In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2]extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4]
This sense of the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, but have been used more widely. Media attention in recent years has equated trolling with online harassment. For example, mass media has used troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."

I had a troll pencil topper glued to the front of the hood of my first car I drove a 1983 4x4 Subaru wagon, boy was it ugly! But I loved it.( first car was a 1980 t-top camaro but the tranny was shot, I eventually rebuilt it). I thought it would bring good luck, and I was a little 'weird' when I was younger. Kids always pointed it out in parking lots and laughed, I thought that was cool. I don't know how lucky it was, I wrecked the car a few times, drunk a couple of them. Finally totaled it driving metal on metal on the front brakes. Right wheel locked up and threw us into a ditch, hit a giant rock, swung the car around so fast it took both back tires off the rims (tires were still good!)
crumpled the hood on the right almost to the windshield, the floor on that side was up almost to the dash where my best friends feet were wedged. We both walked away just a little sore and shook up! Nobody hurt! Both front axles I just put in were shattered, guess I should have replaced the brake pads as well Lol! The motor was good though, I put it in a 1985 Subaru Brat I paid $100 for and drove that another five years with the troll on its hood. Eventually I grew up and learned to drive right and maintain my vehicles, I don't have the troll anymore but I think it saved our lives more than once Lol!
