I should learn to give ovations when deserved more often... I've only ever given 29 of them it seems. Slightly off balance...

Note that there is a > symbol in front of the number, which I think means that 1500-2999 = "is a thought leader in the community" and 3000-9999 = "is an onsite legend"?

That is good--It would take many years to become a legend if you needed 10,000. 3000 is doable though.

I try to give them when the information is truly useful and less for when people are being funny I have gotten a lot of ovations for being an idiot... And sadly that's not the point of the system... I lost some when that chilli place sank...

Sam, I think the fb like system has ruined the point of ovations a bit... perhaps you should be able to both like and give ovations on BYC as well. But a funny comment can be helpful as well, bringing a smile to someone's face can do wonders.

We can't tell anymore. It used to show up in the profile of each member but that stopped a year ago or so.
