The Old Folks Home

Oh, my. Were the calcium issues a problem with healing her motorcycle accident injuries?

The calcium taken from the bones makes it easier for them to fracture--but the high calcium in the blood make the fracture heal faster. It is an odd thing.

The accident made her weaker in general so the symptoms, including kidney stones, are now worse. Her kidneys cannot keep up with the calcium level now and there is more kidney damage from the calcium.

How would I find this info for my local provider??
Likely from their website. Sometimes they send the info in a statement with the bill.
Ameren bought out Union Electric here. Ameren has different rates in Mo from IL.
Here's the route I went.
I googled "ameren missouri kilowatt hour cost".
that took me here https://www.ameren.com/missouri/rates/electric-full-service-bundle
then I clicked on 'Residential Rate', which then took me to this pdf

here's a list of websites for Massachusetts power companies.

I didn't think it funny they did though..
I think it's clever.
Ben-gay has been around a long time for muscle and arthritis aches. I can see it being popular with the old folks.
Welcome to the OFH

calcium, potassium and sodium work together to run just about everything in your body. If calcium is too high or too low, it messes up a lot of things. Calcium is very tightly regulated to .2 and in the 9's because of it's effects.

It is very important to know your calcium number. If it ever goes too high--is flagged as high or more specifically is over 10.2, It needs to be checked out. A lot of Doctors were taught that the number has to get to a certain level like 12 to be bad. That is wrong information and if you stay in the tens, you will be miserable.

That would mean I'd have to go to a doctor.

I'm guessing if the calcium is very high, it's important to make sure to drink lots and lots of water to flush the kidneys.
Drinking plenty of water is always a good idea.

It will not remove a tumor that is making parathyroid hormone or stop the bone loss. Nothing will stop it except removing the tumor.

It should never be watched. It will kill you faster than high cholesterol.

It is rare though and not as common for men to have it.

Been in the hospital for infusions now for 3 days. It's my first day off of stab and poke but go back to Dr Friday :( I'm only turning 31 one this month but have the health of a 70 yr old. I would love to finally have like minded people to talk to. I'm old fashioned and dont fit in to many groups my age. I don't throw away what I can fix. So I'm a stitcher canner grower and do it all the old ways. So hello from mn... can I float here a while and chat?

More than welcome.
Other than computer use, most of us are very old fashioned if not old too.

I feel 31 but more than double that. I still can't identify the old guy looking at me in the mirror.

Thanks, it's hard only having the kids and animals for company in the summers. I need some thing that's a human interaction that's not my 7 yr old and 3 yr old. I think we will never recognize the old person in the mirror I'm still convinced my husband and I are 17. Then I remember I can but beer. :D
