The Old Folks Home

I'll have to go digging in the closet to see if there's anything that will withstand a walk in the snow or mud. Some leather is never the same once wetted.
Peep.... I always thought that high heels and fancy shoes were designed by men to keep us in our place!!! I wish they put 'bling' on athletic shoes!!! In bad weather they should go on the muck boots!

We've been having rain off and on all day today.... a blessing in our drought stricken area. It has been good in that it has been a light 'farmers' rain... so it's soaking in! The chickens aren't looking happy.... if a wet hen looks bad... look at a moulty wet one!

I don't understand people who use store bought crust. It takes like 2 minutes to make it, and like 5 ingredients.

Al, yeah, you get 10 min more light. "Yay". I'm just a tiny bit further north than you. Up in Utsjoki, Lapland sunset was on Nov 26th and sunrise is on Jan 17th. Now that's dark.

I think the same of people who dont use the redneck steak griller. It is so strange to me that people ruin steaks on grill pans

The birds and berries wasn't that hard. My suggestion though... take it or leave it. If you don't already have and use a bias tape maker, skip that step and just do applique for the stems.

I do fusible applique and did it to quarter inch.

Thanks for the tip! I'm not great at applique, but this is one that my mother started before she passed away, its the first one of hers that I'm going to finish. Its about 34" square.
The other is a bed quilt that she made for me several years ago.

ETA - I'm on mobile, the pics came out backwards lol

Oh... Party was great fun. I opted for black ankle boots (low heel, which was good as we had to walk as there was no nearby parking) and a long skirt.

Thanks for the boots suggestion.

for what its worth its not a complete months worht of darkenss unles you are at the pole North or south. and even then the sun dips below the horizon and comes up enouth for a portion of day light
