The Old Folks Home

That is exactly what I was thinking.

@bamadude tell us what breeds you had, or what breeds you would like.... And tell us when you want eggs shipped to you.

My birds haven't been separated long enough yet to be pure bred... Give them another two weeks.... But then I will have a black Ameraucana (excellent quality) over two Ameraucana pullets and a bunch of different kinds of leghorns. (Several Rose comb dark brown, three high production single comb white, a single comb black... ) not sure about fertility on is pen... Young cockerel and lots of ladies.

I also have Dominiques, pure, but not super fancy, but a proven rooster over only four hens, so great fertility.

I have a pair of spitzhauben with almost no crest at all (seriously bad, like close to zero up there) , but they are very good body type and crest. Bad color, supposed to be black....

My bantams are nice, I have a wheaten Ameraucana over three wheaten hens and 4 mille fleur d'uccles, and a couple d'anvers.

I also have a some d'anvers, pure d'anvers but mixed colors.

That means alot AL. Thanks so much. Im not sure what I will do yet

@bamadude

let me know when... There is a breeder here in San Diego who raises Superblue egg layers. A cross of Creme legbar and Amaraucana I believe.

I will contact her and see what else she has. I seem to remember some Ayams in her avatar.. Best I can do is a dozen... of somthin. eggs that is.

Dude needs dry land first, then a coop, or two. At that point, let us know, and we will see what we can do to help.

I realize that. thats when I said "when you are ready".

Anyway it doesnt matter. She doesnt have any birds at this time. The offer still stands. I cant have any chickens now but I can afford some hatching eggs when he is ready.

Hatch update.
BabyBear got off the eggs Sunday night I went out to check on her and the eggs were room temp which is really bad since that means bout 55 degrees.
I scooped up all the eggs and ran them to the Silkie coop where sunshine (Buff Silkie) had gone Broody 4 days eairlier and I gave her 2 egg to keep her on the nest. i pushed the eggs under her and hoped for the best 1 was peeping 1 was moving earlier but not any more too cold I think and 3 I couldnt tell. So this morning nothing but the peeper was peeping again. Later I checked and found a wet chick on the straw the Frizzle on the eggs and Sunshine in a corner not in the nest.

She was not moving I grabbed her and heated her with my breath and peep! dropped food bucket on ground and went inside warmed her ans she is doing great now. went out to check on SS and peeping. 2:40 this am Aurora got a friend

and there is another pipped egg in the nest. But it is in the 30's tonight and I could not risk her abandoning the chick again.

BabyBear is a great Mom she is keeping her 6 safe and warm even Sits on the food bowl so the chicks don't get chilled while eating and then goes back to her chosen corner with them to digest.
I plan to see if BabyBear will take the chicks back once I am sure they are all hatched that will hatch.

Edit to add
@ 5:45 this guy was in the straw. Still not seeing anything in the last 2.
