Dang! Some of the lightning photos in "ride the lightning" were AWESOME! Lightning is pretty crazy stuff.

We are overnight soaking dried bagged ones from walmart.
We grow pink eyed purple hull peas here during the summer. I dont think I have ever had fresh blackeyed peas

Back when I lived someplace warm I really liked freshly shelled beans.

Crock pot full of slow cooked venison speidies
and good hardy rolls to put them on and soak up the speidie marinade.

we simmer the ham hocks till they were almost done then add in the fresh peas and shells. they are done in a bout the same time as cooking a pot of green beans.

But those snaps have incredible flavor.
