The Old Folks Home

Ok, for those that are selling their eggs..what do you sell a doz. for? I think I am low. But, I am in Utah County. I sell a doz. for 2.50. Going a bit lower than what they are going for in the store, their supposedly free range eggs.

Mine go for $3, but my clients and friends drop off egg cartons for me which help keep the costs low. The local farmers market sells for $4 to $5/dozen. I make sure all eggs sold are Large or bigger. The smaller ones I keep for home use.

Klucky...
Bummer! So sorry for your bird loss and the resultant mess to clean up.

"took out half of the hardware cloth."

That costs a pretty penny to replace.

Yeah... It kills me, I saw a charity organization handing out chips and soda to homeless folks in Anchorage.... I asked, turns out that BY LAW, they may not make sandwiches and hand them out...it has to be prepackaged store bought single serving things.

Schools here no longer alow home baked goods for parties, snacks, birthdays, etc, all has to be store bought. Here kids have a couple Oreos, or a tiny slice of cake from a tiny $10 store bought cake that tastes like poo. BS.

I can't bring myself to sell eggs either, don't want the hassle. If I wasn't over a hundred yards from the road I'd sell them out of a small fridge by my mailbox on the honor system. Not running electric down that far.
What we don't eat, I feed back some, dogs eat some, pickle some, throw away some.
I really should find out if our local food banks would accept them. If the regular ones don't maybe the church ones will. IDK?

Exactly what happens here. Kids are missing out because of a few sickos sad really. I'm not sure if parents of today have time enough to bake anyways.
