The Old Folks Home

Ohhhhhh darn. I'm back to where I started.
Depends on the individual basically.
I'll get my questions prepped now before I get to my optometrist.

Beer can that is a funny story!

I don't think I could do progressives. I had cataract surgery about 9 years ago by students, and they messed up my eyes. That is why I have holes in my vision they had to do laser surgery for the secondary cataract and kept the laser in some places to long trying to break up the cataract. But I do were glasses to see to read or when I was driving.

I hope they at least gave you a heck of a discount for letting the kids practice on you...

There is a trick to getting used to progressive lenses. The trick is to put them on first thing in the morning. Wear your old prescription the night before, the first thing you do when you wake up is put them on. You will have to learn to adjust the angle of your vision to accommodate the lens the same as you do with lined bifocals but in the 7 years in which I was my husband's office nurse/office manager/optician I never saw one person who switched to progressives come back and ask for their bifocals or trifocals back.

Patient education is the key and also good quality lenses. We always used Essilor Verilux progressives for our patients. Yes, you pay more for good quality progressive lenses but ask yourself, how much is your vision worth?

We would never offer a patient in their 70s or 80s progressives. Rarely they would ask for them but we just knew that this was an instance where you could not teach old eyes new tricks.

I went into progressive lenses when I was in my early 50s and my eye doctor (this was before I met DH) told me I had a choice, trifocals or progressives. No way I was going to wear trifocals. Now I wouldn't wear anything else.

I had something weird going on - I could access BYH, but not BYC. Netflix just couldn't load, but I could watch videos on my local news' channel.

I didn't try Netflix, but when I used my phone to set up a hot spot, I could get to BYC, no problem.

The US is under a cyber attack currently. It is aimed at a piece of the internet that tell your computer what address to go to for a website(DNS-Domain name service). The company that is being attacked is called DYS. When they go down, Amazon goes down and they host a lot of websites including Netflix.

There is supposed to be two more waves of attacks tonight. I might need to rent a Red box movie....

Actually I did not have any insurance and the Lions club had me come to the Calahan Clinic in Birmingham. They are a teaching hospital so they did my surgeries for free.
I do believe in helping students learn. And I am currently going to UAB in Selma for a general practice doctors office. They don't do anything but keep up with my specialists so it's ok.
