Quote: The length actually makes it easier to tow and back... in town or on highway even two lanes.... I can back em up and park em... On the flat.... i backed the trailer UP into its parking spot.

thats what spooked me... The truck is a BEAST HAULER... but they gave it a wimpy reverse gear ratio.... I could smell the clutch burning. I hadnt drivin the horse trailer With horse in it in about five years.... no parking break made it an adventure to get the horse loaded. I have NO help...

So a smaller trailer is a good choice for sure. Its got the capacity and foot print i need for future projects. Hay first .... then stall mats and pallet buliding materials. I can work out of the back of the trailer construction wise.

Im buying it tomorrow... then off to register it then to pick up the hay.

I meant to comment on this before, but I was so far back by the time I got to the end I had forgotten.... Why put stall mats on top of the pallets? I know you said so you don't fall through the gaps in the pallets, but why not go with ply board, it's got to be cheaper, and around here, if you need it cut, the store you buy it from will cut it for you for free. Stall mats are expencive and HEAVY, plus, they will still sag in between the slats on the pallets and you won't have a flat floor. Didn't you say you use a walker? Wouldn't a smooth floor be better?

Morning everyone!

We had a 12 foot twin axle trailer that we pulled with a light duty Ford Econoline van. We hauled everything from tractors to appliances with that rig over some pretty steep ridges and flat as a pancake interstates in high winds. I drove it the same as my husband and while no, it wasn't fun, it did do the job when we were retiring and closing up our second home. The big thing we found with the trailers like the one pictured and the one we had was the tendency for the weld joints to crack when water got into the square tubing via the pinpoint holes in the welds and froze over winter, expanding the metal. That and the ramp welds broke loose if we loaded anything heavy on it like our small White/Isecki tractor. It was rated for 2500 pounds but didn't handle that big of a load on the ramp.

DH says the only draw back with a single axle is that the weight limit on a 1.5 inch axle is around 1000 pounds. If you are going to be carrying high weight loads you need a duel.

Good luck on the hatches everyone. I have a first time broody, Welsummer pullet setting 8 bantam eggs that are due to hatch this time next week. So far she has been an exemplary broody. I hope she is as good of a momma.

First, subject of the day. My DH can park anything anywhere. loves laughing at me because I can't park anything anywhere. Very irritating. He also makes trailers out of everything to haul anything. Very impressing.

What version of windows do you have?

My husband pointed out something interesting to me this morning concerning these outbreaks once again in large production poultry factories.

Is there any possibility that the disease is being spread in spite of high bio-hazard operations, by inspectors themselves?

These production facilities are known for their strong bio-hazard rules. Is somebody going from one plant to another like an inspector and somehow something he or she is wearing is slipping through the cracks thus spreading the disease? It's weird that only a small amount of infected flocks are back yard in origin. The majority are farms with tens of thousands of birds on the property, all of them living under bio-hazard precautions. Yet they are seeing outbreaks in these plants.

There is just something strange about this. Yes, there always is the possibility of infection from wild birds/fowl but aren't these facilities pretty breach free as far as being opportunistic to wildlife?

two of the three outbreaks in AL were in backyard flocks. The state inspectors, at least here in WI were no where near any infected facility prior to going to the JennyO plant.

10 of course but it was a batch update. The browser I actually use is Chrome but 10 is loaded

I have a brand new touch screen laptop sitting on my desk still in plastic since Dec. might be time to set it up. This one has been dying (battery already gone) but I've been procrastinating. I hate the hours hours of wasted time updating, transferring, etc.
