Walked out to check on chickens (thinking of getting rid of some) (I know....crazy talk )

And I see a little 6 week old chick running about with the big chickens, scared out of its mind. -sigh-

I have a little coop/segregation space underneath a poop tray. Had it for years.

The tray fell down! Didn't crush anyone, but one chick escaped.

Sheesh.

So...we moved tractors about (Will wonders never end, I had one empty one). I stuck the three roosters in the small one, and let the grow-outs have the freshly moved great big green tractor.

I saw someone who had keets with feathers sticking out like a pine cone, but i think your keets have theirs beat. They figured theirs might be due to heat because a lot of them were like that.

Do you know if their's stayed like that?

These two are the only ones showing noticeably out of quite a few. I've also been checking for parasites and that has been negative across the board; adults chickens and these chicks. It's a different look for sure. The one keet I left with the hen has white tips on it's wings. It's a pearl and no other keet has that.

Hope everyone is doing well..in the heat? We are in the heat!! No fun. Had to buy another cooler. Triple digits, hitting all time highs for our state. Yes, we have had fires.

Our kids are still here..sort of. They come and go a lot. Have friends up north they go visit. This last time they took their R.V....it died on the way there! Our daughter in law is expecting..it's hot..thank goodness her friends got there pretty quick. Our son had an ins. on it that would pay for it to be hauled to an R.V. place. Well, that will take time. These things hardly ever have many miles on them. This one only has 58,000 on it. She said it just started to die..while driving. Eeek. Got to the side thank goodness. It would stop, but not go. Hoping it's an easy fix. In the meantime, they are staying at their friends place until it is fixed. It has been quiet. Our son comes home for the night here..he works out this way. Have to say, I miss those snuggles from my baby girl. She's two. Such a doll. She did the cutest thing during fireworks. She will plug her ears, but, she does it in a really different way! Check it out..she pulls her earlobes up over the hole....lol

So, grandpa went and got something for her. She kept them on!

I have two ear muffs, my four yr old boy has to wear a pair when I'm grinding or cutting or using circular saw etc, even though I make him stand far away he has to wear the same muffs dad does lol.

Kids been bugging me to see that one, saw the trailer watching the new Cars.
They call it the "New minion movie" lol!

penny I waited all year for my birthday because at AMC I would get a large popcorn bucket & large pop for free. Well my son said he was taking me out to lunch - so I dropped the treats off at the senior bus office for them to enjoy. It was a bittersweet moment, because I NEVER buy concessions- too expensive - but I liked surprising them.

That's why I love the drive-in, can bring tons of your own stuff, paper bags full of popcorn Lol!
Haven't been yet this yr though, hard to stay up that late, and then to watch the second movie we rarely do. We've just been catching the matinees at the theater, and getting the big popcorn and a couple drinks with free refills. Between me and the kids we down one bucket of popcorn before the previews are over and run for a free one Lol!

Ha ha...don't laugh. That could almost be entirely possible! I've seen the male guineas breeding hens!

But not the other way around because the large roosters haven't been out.
