The Old Folks Home

Ron, I'm so sorry to hear that.

I had my RF when I was in my mid 20s. which they told me was extremely old to be diagnosed. While I have some mild heart damage, it has really hit my joints hard. Rings that I could wear two years ago can no longer fit over my knuckles and my feet are almost a constant source of pain for me.

I was told it never goes away. Overactivity, getting too tired, too stressed, getting sick in general can set it off again.

I had the rash when I was first diagnosed. It was around my waist. I don't remember it itching too badly, Burn yes, itch no.I spent a month in the hospital and 6 months total in bed. Not easy to swallow when you are in what is supposed to be the vital years of your young adulthood. I was never quite the same afterwards. I still fatigue easily and have to guard myself from becoming ill and it was a good 10 years before the doctor would assure me that I was going to survive.

Every day is a blessed gift from God. I work hard to stay healthy and take care of my body.

Hope your wife does okay. I'll sure remember her in my prayers.
One thing that my DW does not do is slow down!

She was just a week back from a month of traveling when the scarlet fever started.

I will tell here to take it a bit slower :fl

Yes definitely a lot of rest. 7-8 hours of sleep a night for me.The biggest thing I had to learn was when to recognize that I was tired and it was time to sit down and rest. Now I work at my own speed, not always easy to do when you are a nurse. When my husband asked me 4 years ago if I was ready to retire, I told him a resounding YES!

It took me a long time to figure out what was over activity and healthy activity.

I''ve always gone through life at a dead run and still tend to do so at times.

I'm not a very good patient, LOL

is that for real?
Yeah, they sold out IMHO, might be good, I usually don't like seeing this, Finnish company so I shouldn't care but I still don't like hearing such stuff.
More $$ but then they're beholden to the shareholders, politics, crap.
Vehve was our "Token Finn" and I'm pretty sure worked at Rovio that owns/owned angry birds. He's not on BYC anymore but was on alot. Last time I ' summoned' him with a @ he showed up, still gets emails from here I think? Miss him, maybe he'll stop by for a post?

No phone for two days now, think I'm going to go ballistic on Frontier tomorrow. DW called them from her mom's earlier, they said they couldn't get anyone out our way till Friday... So two weeks with no internet now a week with no phone
Our internet still working now but no phone, lost half our services for a month and I doubt we'll get a refund...
I do not like calling them, I think this time I'm going to have to request someone higher than them..
