Mom is always asking about one or another actor. I tell her, Mom, if you knew their names , they are probably dead by now. She is 88.

That is what google is good for!

Some of those guys make to 100. One of them in their 90s died a couple of weeks ago

There is no point looking them up to tell her, she forgets right away.
The workshop now has power! There are a couple more things for them to do in there, but it is looking better. I am slowly moving things in there.

I guess why the different reaction. Like you said if it had been women's pics they would have been up in arms but seeing that it was men they were probably just having their egos built up. I'm just an old country boy here but do most women really feel like objects in situations like that? And I mean no disrespect to no female at all. I have the highest regard for them. I'm just befuddled some time.

Deep down, I think most guys believe they are the baddest bird in the barnyard; the sexiest thing in shoe leather. Strength and other signs of physical prowess are generally considered positive male traits, and knowing that even random females that you may never meet think you are the epitome of masculinity is very affirming. Big, strong, and tough as nails are just not words generally associated with the ideal of feminine beauty. In a way, I think the creators of the movie Zootopia did a pretty good job of getting to the crux of the problem - Judy Hopps was smart, resourceful, mentally tough, but all anyone could see when they looked at her was vulnerability (a bunny). Nobody wants to be seen as vulnerable; it's anywhere from depressing to downright creepy. Women work so hard to be seen as confident and competent, to be valued and respected for what they know and what they can do, and then to feel that someone has reduced you to the sum of your body parts is infuriating and degrading - especially when you consider that most women don't think their body parts are all that great.

Well, I learned very early on that I was far from being sexiest or toughest guy out there. I felt quite fortunate when I found a woman willing to stand with me and build a life. I may be alone again now but for a time life was good. Man and woman together. I haven't watched movies in a long, long time so I know nothing of the other things you mentioned.

Zootopia is a movie that Disney released last year. The protagonist is a rabbit that wants to become a cop, but all of the animals on the police force are large, strong, and intimidating, and everybody thinks the idea of a bunny cop is ridiculous.

Yep! Now that's hilarious! Gee 30 is quite young to have high blood pressure. Yikes.

What is it there for requirements for your DOT (I'm assuming that's commercial semi driver?) Is it a physical every 5 years? I have a class 2 which is everything except a semi with air brakes (that's class 1 here) but both have the same requirements; a doctor's physical every 5 years. I received a letter that I'll have to have to go every 3 years now.

I think there was something wrong with him more than just bp, whatever they put him on calmed him down he was a big guy not 'fat' just big, little bigger than me, but super high strung and always in a hurry. He used to jump up on his trailer and unhook/seal himself up when done, NOT allowed to but I gave drivers leeway if I liked them and they were helping out when I was burried. Whatever they eventually put him on to lower his bp also calmed him the heck down lol.
IDK the requirements for DOT physical just dealt with a lot of drivers.

That's a fairly serious workplace then. May I ask what i your work. I haven't worked in a workplace that serious in a long time. Well, I suppose my job now wouldn't tolerate that (school bus driver) but working at the bar and the hog barn were pretty easy going.

Perhaps they don't hold themselves up to the same scrutiny/standard? When I was young...probably in my 20s I went with a few friends to the male dancers; which here means full nudity. I was more than shocked at the older ladies for the inappropriateness. By that I mean excess lewdness. And by most people's standards...I seem to have one of the more filthy minds...lol.

Having a little fun is one thing, I did grow up in that era so I get it but only to a certain extent...but those boys are still someone's sons. The hypocritical nature of it is what doesn't sit well. Expect to treat men with the same respect as one would expect to treat women. That's my thoughts on it.

There's four years between Dh and me and 9 years is the greatest age difference in my family. I guess I go by those parameters. Although I don't imagine looking much to men in their 30s, especially early 30s with me being in my mid 40s. Anyone younger than late 30s I view as a kid like my son. I treat everyone with complete respect no matter the age...there are some pretty impressive young people out there working...but as far as romance/sexual...View attachment 1135389

Where do I work? Dairy plant, 100yrs old+. Make cottage cheese and sour cream, Breakstones....Kraft/Heinz owns it now...


The whole age difference thing...My MIL is 63, FIL, 79... I think he will live longer than her, he deals with way less stress, still loves his beer love the guy. If you met him you'd swear he was maybe pushing it 69?... Not even, maybe 59 lol.

That's really good that no one can tell. I looked up graves disease to get a better understanding. That's an awful disease!

Took the kids when it came out in theater.
One of the best movies I've watched that yr, was skeptical on it 'eutopia'...thought it was going to be crappy political, was not and one of the best movies ever (I watch a lot of kids movies..) another good one was Inside Out, loved that one also.
