The Old Folks Home

I am loosing the feeling in my hands as well. mostly my right... Thumb index and middle finger.

I assume its from damage from whiplash from my years of riding. I got thrown over a hundred times my first year and jumped out from under at least once a year after that.

When I was about twenty five I threw a book down on my desk behind me at work. Pissed at my boss... my back went out so bad I couldnt breathe. It felt like Icepick was being jabbed in my chest.

Went to moms Chiro.... He wouldnt touch me without full xrays. But showed me where I had crushed a vertibre when i was about twelve.... (bout right) and it was above a malformed vertibre missing one of those things that make the bumps on your back. Between the two thats where my back was out.

He then showed me my neck.... Looks like a stack of poker chips randomly dropped.... Funny thing is I didnt have any problems with my neck... He adjusted my back Which hurt lke HE double hockey sticks. Whew I could breathe.... took two more adjustments and I was better.

Fast forward and I switched Chiros to one who my mom was using.... He said expect numbness if you dont have any now. He went on to Work for the Pro Rodeo Circuit and eventually to Colorado at the olympic training center.

He didnt nickel and dime me.... Yay. So I went in when I needed it and he only charged 40 buck...

One time I was there taking my mom in and I had a MAJOR Tequila Hangover... I was sitting there like a zombie in the waiting room.... He came out and asked me If I had partied hearty the night before.... Yep I confessed.... Come into my office... he said.... He adjusted my neck and told me to drink alot alot of water.... Worked.

Sigh I dont have one now...

They know mine is due to a couple bad car wrecks.. mostly unruly dogs trying to say no someday it will probably put me in wheelchair but I will go down kicking and screaming.. do not drink as I have legal drugs but chiropractor will touch me anymore

My neck problems are mainly from an auto accident and then when my mom had dementia with aggression and she liked to whip me around by my pony tail which pretty much sealed my cervical vertebrae's fate. If I don't have my pillows positioned just right I wake up in the morning with numb arms.

I've had back problems since I was about 14 years old and it hasn't gotten any better. My Lumbar vertebrae have loosened at the S1 L5 juncture causing the spinious process (I think that is what he called it) to hang up. I understand what you are talking about when you say the pain feels like a knife being rammed into your back. When my back goes out it even hurts to breathe. Forget about moving like a normal human being.

Plus I have the inflammatory condition in my joints which compounds the problem. The PA I was seeing finally insisted that I see the DO she worked under as my last siege with my back lasted 3 years without any improvement. He was pretty impressed that I was handling it as well as I was. It took regular adjustments and finally injections into trigger points and injections into my SI joint when I developed sacroiliitis My left leg was bearly working due to the sciatica that went along with the SI infection. It was a long hard summer last year because the pain made in impossible to bend, squat or put all my weight on my left leg. I was pretty impressed when my DO had me walking pain free in less than 30 Min.

The treatments are expensive. 300 dollars a pop and my insurance pays for none of it so I usually only go in about every 3 months unless things get really knarly. The adjustments really help and I look forward to having my doctor rip me a new one for not coming in more often whenever I go in :lau

But you are correct. It feels soooooooo good when it stops hurting.

@perchie.girl have you ever considered going to an doctor of osteopathy? I've been to both chiropractor and DO and I tell you the DO made a believer out of a Very sceptical me.
