The Old Folks Home

Are these the Santa Anna fueled fires that we hear about ?

We usually have red flag days here in Missouri about July through September when there is little rain and lots of heat. Haven't had them for the past two years which is just fine with me.

Ten years ago when we were driving down to Arizona we drove through Tonto National Forest and went through an area that had been hit by a forest fire. It was eerie. The power of fire is one of those things that I don't think we will ever learn to control.

The fires in the wine country started with a wind they called the Daiblo wind. 70mph and knocked a power line into trees. Think of it as a near hurricane wind driving fire down to a fairly large City

James I talk of all the time the son his is October 30
Did he like that with it being that close?

Our son's birthday is the 26th. It was a hoot to throw his "Halloween" inspired birthday parties! :clap I'm not sure if he loved it...but I certainly did!! And every child got to go home with a carved pumpkin. :wee

I use vetericyn wound spray for wounds--twice a day in the hospital kennel. Chickens heal very well. They do not have much of a brain but are one of the few creatures that can re grow brain cells.
I wish I could spawn a few new ones. Or maybe more than just a few. :p...:clap

Hey Wickedchicken6 Que Pasa!!! Love the Avatar!

I love Halloween. Probably one of my top three holidays. I keep adding to the decorations even though out where we live there are no trick or treaters and the nearest child relatives we have are 200+miles away. Must be my inner kid working it's way to the surface again....still.....

I would give anything if I could take the anti-infammatory NSAIDS that are out there. Most of them tear my stomach up with the exception of Tylenol and Enteric coated aspirin. Aleve works but I can only take it for about 4 days then I'm having problems with stomach pain and GERD. Thank goodness for Tylenol.

Scary stuff!
