The Old Folks Home

I miss scalloped oysters for thanksgiving, and scalloped corn, haven't had them in yrs.
Nobody at DWs family makes them. Her sister attempted scalloped corn one yr but wasn't comparable.
I might attempt making a small of scalloped oysters for the in-laws thanksgiving dinner. FIL, and myself I bet would be the only one's that would eat it though.
I miss the big thanksgivings and Christmas dinners when I was a kid, whole extended families, tables of food. They even had a table just for pies and desserts. I remember someone always brought a big pan of awesome rice crispy treats with M&Ms. And real Chex mix, anyone make real Chex mix anymore?
I make muddy buddies with chex cereal. Does that count? :p
Although I haven't done it in a while. 900x900px-LL-0ed186b2_LL-33.gif

He's always been one to complain about all our usual what we call 'road pounders', actually is pretty common here, though illegal. I've never been much into it, costs tons of gas and usually don't see anything anyway. I'd rather save $$ and go out into the woods and not see anything lol. He's the only one of all and anyone we know that has got caught, not only caught but shot a robo-buck to boot! Even worse in the Adirondacks where you never see any game wardens or law enforcement at all lol.

Was the creamed onions whole onions? I was actually thinking about them when I posted that. I remember one time seeing whole onions in a big bowl of what looked like milk at my father's brothers family thanksgiving in PA. My parents never ate onions so we didn't touch them. I and all of my siblings love onions now lol.
Yes! White pearl onions. You should try them sometime
