Just can't keep up with you guys! Oh well, should be able to tomorrow if the snow removal doesn't take too long. Just waiting n0w for the storm to roll in. At least the temps won't drop any lower now. Better hit the sack in case the power goes and I have to crank up the fireplace.
It's great to keep up with, and to learn about... what's up! Knowing is the wise way to be on top of all of this. Yes, knowing what meds to stay away from at least a week before surgery is wise! Sounds like he is between a rock and a hard place at this point. Thanks Cynthia! This last clot was non-occlusive and it's been left it for his body to break down. I'll admit it has me nervous. I thought it was one of the branches that had the clot. It was the superior mesenteric. He's been feeling not so great, especially when he eats so he's been taking it easy. We've watched vids as a family to get a better understanding and to see what's involved. Today I looked up superior mesenteric ischemia in the Merck. The body is so incredibly amazing.
A fellow from town got a blood clot about the same time as DH. We're hearing that he's paralyzed from the waist down. That's so scary.
DH will be relieved when he gets his hernia fixed. I have a grasp on what ppis do and how he's at risk for certain things. The sooner he can be off his ppis the better. Right now we're being told he's going to be on apixaban for 6 months. If I understand it correctly this is an anti-platelet drug...no one has informed us as to what this means in regards to his hernia operation. That's expected to be in about 3 months. We have a list of questions when he goes for his refill before the first month is up. We are definitely learning lots of interesting things...lol.
