The Old Folks Home

I might not know what I had for lunch but Mainers have this very strange thing that they do in spring - they eat emerging ferns that they dub fiddleheads.
I've been here over a decade now and I've always been interested in the concept of fiddleheads, but never brave enough to commit.
Today is commitment day. Someone made me a tub of fiddleheads and brought them to work.

I think they look like worms.

If I get brave enough to eat them I will report back.
I can't wait for the report!

They smell awful.
They look (to me) like worms.
But I ate them. They taste a bit like spinach (cooked) if I had to say.
I think they'd be better with garlic scapes and butter, provided one didn't look at them when one was consuming them.
Thanks for the review!

Vinegar is good on spinach. I wonder if fiddle heads are the same?

I don't even know what I had for lunch .

But I thought you sent me turkey eggs

I did send you Turkey eggs. Lol
Sorry. I don't understand why your hen gives you so much trouble when she's broody. I would have to show her who the boss. Some how....

All the Turkey hens and chicken hens let me get in their nests. I only had one Tom bite me and he saw something on me so he tried to get it off.
Oh I did have that black Spanish hen that hated me and flew towards my face. But Ace jumped up and intercepted her and sent her flying backwards!
But I always used a large stick the size of a broom handle to heard my Turkey. I never had to touch them with it just guided them where I wanted them to go. They were never scared of me or the stick.
I did spend a lot of time with them every day. The only time I hollered at them is when one would get to close to the road and I'd holler get back in the yard. And they take off flying back up in the pasture. Lol

I bought the s9 barely a month ago and I've had to call for tech support 4 times since I've had it.
They down graded it from 4g to 3g due to dropped calls. And most of the time I can't get it to work. With o ly one bar of signal.
I asked them to take the phone e back and let me out of the contract since I can't use it.
The said they would have to turn in another ticket. And I just got one back today saying I am getting weak signal.
What's a person to do in a case like this.

Come on over I have about 5 lbs left.
Wow. That is a lot of $$ worth of fiddleheads. I bought some a couple of weeks ago. I would say that, at best, they were edible. But there was a flavor that stuck with me far longer than I would have liked. I think I'll stick to cheaper greens like chard and spinach.

I don't know Chicka. I think we have all "helped" SGC with ideas including a suit of armor. Sounds like that hen is a super turkey when she is broody. Not real sure she tried the armor though.
