Does anyone have a kubota tractor they can tell me how they like it?
Everyone I know that has one loves them and has no probs. Me personally I'd rather have a Mihindra or New Holland, but you'll pay $$ extra.
I almost singed the dotted line for a Kubota bx24 yrs ago, decided to check the others out first, they were thousands more. Ended up buying a much bigger old backhoe, a lot better deal , but I don't have much use for anymore
I think there is plenty of Kubota dealers around so you shouldn't have any probs with servicing.

Well Bruce, they knew you were getting a tractor with forks. You simply lift it up with the forks and work from underneath it... What happened to that old Yankee ingenuity? :gig;)
Um, well I COULD if it weren't for the 3 90° turns and the 3' wide doors. I'm pretty sure you can't get a 5' wide tractor through a 3' wide door, even if you drive fast.

Thanks Deb. Like you though, its just me... Can't be in two places at once. Nobody to hold the chain on the tire. Guess I could partially deflate it. Other thing is I'd really like to not bend the T-posts so I can use them again.
Personally I do not believe that method of pulling posts will work for those you pounded into the cement. In fact, I wouldn't think it particularly good for any very dense/solid soil.

Bruce I suggested that to Dh he won't do it. He said he may tear the engine down to find out what's wrong with it.
And what if it isn't all related to the engine? The whole PTO connection to the engine, etc could be causing problems. Methinks he just wants to replace it with a new mower. For grins I looked up Kubota Z turns. The first one has this "ad" description. I would avoid it just because of the :sick factor
"Z100 SERIES - KOMMANDER
21.5 - 25.0 HP. Because you aren't just a homeowner, you're a neighborhood role model."

When you have any acreage at all, you need a tractor. We learned that almost immediately after we bought our first property in Missouri. We still have that tractor, a Bolen's Iseki G192. It has turf tires on it and use it primarily now to pull our finishing mower while the Mahindra with 4 wd and bucket is our work horse. Have to say that Iseki is one heck of a little tractor. It runs all day on less than a gallon of diesel and has never made any mechanical demands on us outside of having to flush the radiator regularly due to the dust and pollen we have.

As for the post popper, here is Lehman's version of it:

They want 99.95 for it and are out of stock.

This on the other hand is Northern Tool's version...

34.99. Their shipping is reasonable. DH made ours looking at these pictures. We find if you set the 'foot' on a board, it works ten times better.

You guys with your new avatars. I can't find anything I like as well as the one I have. Seems to scream my personality. Ditzy little hen dancing her way through life!

Thanks for the happy hatching wishes, Cap and Chicka, danged good car to hit a tree and roll with only that much damage. Hope your son isn't too sore today.

Or get an old tractor rim.... Grooved enough to straddle the Post big enough to get it out of the ground before bending it.

Ron I like that white pigeon you have for your Avatar! :D

I have an L series 3038 that I bought used. Had to put some $ into it, hydrolics needed work and I had them load the tires - all done by dealership. It has the quick release loader with a bucket and forks, and hydrostat drive. It is a workhorse, sturdy and dependable, and comfortable enough when you spend hours brush cutting pastures.

And nothing pulls or drives posts like a big tractor. We put all the posts around a 15 acre field with 2 people in a few hours - one to hold the post upright, the other on the tractor putting the bucket flat on top of the post then pushing them in. Takes only seconds.
