An Article today said that this is the strongest storm to hit this far north in 20 years. Those in the path may not expect what this one will do since they are used to mostly rain and a bit higher wind.

Also, there are a lot more people there than 20 years ago.

We learned out here during the fires to leave when told

Have you ever used a poultice for stings? It really helps take the sting out fast.
My dad always packed mud on us for stings. It works in about 20 minutes.

I made a paste of baking soda....

@CapricornFarm. I agree with the poultice ideas. I would try the baking soda and if that doesn't work, I would make up a poultice using meat tenderizer. That works well with bee stings. I'd also keep up with the benedryl and put an ice pack on it.

Might be wise to take a look at it with a magnifier and see if there are two bite holes or just one. Two = spider bite. Then you have a whole bunch of new worries, namely brown recluse.

Forgot to add. Stupid dogs went out with me last night to lock up the birds. It was just dark. They suddenly started barking and tore out across the pasture towards the woods raising all sorts of merry you know what. 10 minutes later they were back, and Spotty Dog reeked of skunk. Little dummy probably thought the 'kitty' was our black cat Johnny Cash and tried to make it go home. I spent the evening sponging peroxide and baking soda water into her coat just so we could stand leaving her in the house.

5 years old and still an idiot. But then doggo, Dingo tangled with skunks 4 times without ever learning to leave the funny kitties with white stripes alone.
