In a bit of a jam around here (ha, ha).

The wild muscadine vine that had overgrown an ornamental cherry in our yard was bearing a bumper crop of grapes this year, so Critter suggested that I turn them into jelly, and he could give that to his customers in lieu of poinsettias this year. When he floated the idea to some of his customers, they were enthusiastic, so materials were purchased and the project began. Unfortunately, Florence had other idea; at least half of the grapes hadn't been picked yet when she blew through and knocked them in the mud. No time to try for points now; even if we could get cuttings, the greenhouse is wrecked. What to do?

Well, it was a good year for blueberries, too; I have several bags of them in the freezer. Good ol' google found me a recipe, and I got a dozen jars of blueberry jam put up yesterday. Anticipating more of the same today.

MMM! I can almost smell it! I tried making crusty bread today, but I think my yeast is dead. It didn't raise very well. It's going to go in the oven in a few minutes anway, just to see how it turns out.

I hope it came out good.
I love the texture of the bead I made so muchore than when I put it in the bread machine.

I feel your pain @Bunnylady. I was going to do the same thing with my heritage peach crop this year and give the jam as Christmas gifts. They were just starting to get ripe and the deer wiped the whole crop out overnight. What's amazing is that the peach trees are along the front of our property about 60 feet from the house.

Nothing deters a hungry deer when it smells fruit. I'm seriously considering camping out with a rifle in the apple orchard.

Oh the jam... I used up all mine already. Couldnt help myself.

Got about 20 burials in that small cemetery (10 known stones from the transcription project in the 1950s). Will start work on it next spring.

we got a tropical storm warming it up here 91 and humid with a breeze from the south west. Hurricane weather... we just get the micro fringes but any is good.
