The Old Folks Home

Stay safe Ron!

Precipitation has shifted from rain to sleet to snow to hail and back to snow. Right now it is sunny. Although it is early, this is lake-effect showers coming down from Lake Superior. Just an unnecessary sign of unfortunate events to come.

I got word last week that we are going to have a longer than normal winter. This guy crawled up on my porch and onto one of my egg baskets sitting there to give me the heads up.

There is a weak el nino this year--Changes the weather in some places. It is not supposed to change much for us though

Sunspot activity says longer colder, wetter for us this winter. Think I just read a new sunspot report that said the solar minimum was going to hang around until well into 2020.

Just came in from picking apples. So-so crop this year. Mainly we didn't spray so the chickens have a lot of apples to enjoy. At this point they are just looking at them when we drop the wormy ones in the run and walk away. Guess you can get too much of a good thing.

I'm sitting here munching one of the few Golden Delicious apples on my tree this year smeared with crunchy peanut butter....life is sweet!

Will have to play catch up later. Busy weekend plus Ms. Fosamax and I did not hit it off as friends. Took my first and last one. Spent two days feeling like I was run over by a bus. Upset stomach, body aches, blah blah blah. Life is too short. Finally got a semi good night's sleep last night so I'm feeling better today.

We had our first snow overnight. DH was up and said that big flakes were coming down. They were calling for it to be 35. Well, SURPRISE! There was ice on my water bucket this morning. When it is going to rain I always leave a few buckets out to catch fresh rain water for the birds and there was a skin of ice over the water so it definitely went below freezing.

Not ready for winter. Heading out to pick apples now as they are calling for sub freezing temps tonight.
Sorry your body doesn't like Fosamax! Glad you are feeling better.
I have a heel spur i think, i bought thick insoles but it still hurts. And my TMJ is bugging me, can only get my mouth open about an inch.

Ron I hope y'all don't have any more of that hot mess to deal with there. :fl

We are stuck in the mid 80's till Sat. When a cold front comes through. :fl
I am watching a new fire that started in Winters--it is a vegetation fire. Luckily the wind is not too strong now so hopefully is will be under control quickly.

Winters is the next town west of Davis
