The Old Folks Home

Sorry Alaskan are you about to call it done move away? I could not retire there
does anyone need to get out in the morning ? that would say if you get to plow tonight

Yep... there is church in the morning... we plow their drive too.

You would have loved our winter Alaskan,- bitter cold even for us but, only 34 inches of snow all season . Never more than a few inches at a time. Didn't even get to build my snow biceps- which used to be very good.

The lack of snow sounds great, but I also hate cold...

I need to move to Bermuda... but after being in Alaska so long, the bugs and parasites down there might freak me out. :idunno

That's how I feel - I just give myself permission not to have a perfectly clean kitchen, or even come close.
Easy and safe to do up here...

But down in Texas... one crumb would equal a swarm of ants or roaches in 20 minutes tops.... :sick

I had to actually clean up after myself in a TIMELY manner! :th

Here -- New Mexico -- in April we have hecka winds. Days that blow and gust the dust consistently all day long. Most folks don't plant their gardens until Mother's Day so that the tender seedlings don't get dessicated. Dusting is a pointless endeavor as the gritty intrusion is relentless. Indeed, there are little sandbars on the inside window sills... That's how insidious it is. So I kind of let it get a little lax with the housework so it's one big cleaning instead of continual.

A friend dropped by yesterday as she needed eggs for her Easter cooking. To my horror, the dog hair dust bunnies were rather visible in their dusty coats. (Okay, Monday or Tuesday is, traditionally, my housework day.) I spent far too much time apologizing for my messy house. Don't know why -- well, perhaps 'cuz she's ex-military and rather tidy -- as it's kind of a given when you live with a pack of dogs that things are not pristine.

It is what it is. I think as you get older wisdom prevails and it's easier to let some notions just go with an "Oh, well!"

Merry Christmas to one and all!!!
