Thanks Peep. I don't suppose you took pictures of the baby quail?

My kids are getting to the point that we are starting to see some height in them... it is fun seeing them try to turn into men.

Kid 2 is now taller than kid 1. Kid 1 is either 5' 8" or 9" and I think is done (he is 20)

Good morning everyone. Today we celebrate 41 years of marriage and 45 years of being together! Going out for supper tonight.

Oooh! What is your comfort food?

I was out spraying our garden this morning. The bugs are liking my pea plants. I was going to spray yesterday, but didn't feel good at all. It's a good thing. It rained all evening. I used vinegar water on the squash plants. That is good for what is going on with them, and won't hurt my blooms, and tiny squashes. It's 93 out. No wonder I got so hot out there in the direct sun.
I was planting flowers yesterday and there were a lot of big ants in the soil. And some sort of bug killed my Fuji apple tree. Even though I sprayed neem oil on it.
Just came in out of the heat myself, if I get too hot I start coughing due to my allergies. I am off my allergy meds until my skin test at the end of the month. So I am pretty miserable .

I am sorry about the tree! I lost a peach tree to a Pacific bore moth this year. I am going to use nematodes and spinosad this year to make sure the nectarine tree does not get infested too.

How do you tell it was that insect? We lost our peach tree too. Leaves just got yellow and fell off. I just bought a nectarine tree, should I plant it else where?

The borer is the larval stage of a moth that is very pretty!

You would see some holes in the bark and often a section of the tree will go yellow first.

It is a real problem here!

The larvae over winter in the soil and Plum trees harbor them. The nematodes kill the larvae and the worms. Spinosad will kill them on the tree. I will also use dormant oil.

The leaves and matter around both the peach and plum trees should be removed in the fall too.
