I'm doing a chicken breast for me and hamburger for DH. I did manage to get three mint plants in the ground that the neighbor gave us. I think it's speriment. I have candy cane peppermint and regular mint plants and I'm trying to get a bed started for mint tea.

I am about to BBQ some burgers on the pellet BBQ! We will have corn with it tonight

She sleeps in the carrier, which is on my bed. Afraid I might roll on her. I am getting up early every morning now, sigh. But I got a nap yesterday.
 
Sold a couple of birds this weekend. Heard some stuff but didn't get much skinny on what's going on, e.g., a couple of local folks in the last couple of years had opened up a chicken operation where they were renting out coops and chickens for the summer months, kind of a "lease option to buy" situation. Written up in all the papers. Anyway, now they have divested from their chicken business and have zero birds. I've heard from three customers now that the birds they bought from these people had died, one reported that all five acquired birds had. Makes me think some disease. The poultry purveyors had a free-range flock.
Anyway, I explained to my latest customer about bio-security as I was handing her the bird at our meeting place (I don't allow outside folks near my flock) that even if she decided at that moment not to take the bird, I wouldn't return her to my pens. I'm just hoping that whatever affected that commercial flock isn't still around to infect my birds that head off to their new coops. No way to find out, really, what happened with the purveyors. I suppose I could ask a few third-party questions to other poultry folks here and hopefully do so without causing ire.

Meanwhile, back on the farm...
Still harvesting. I wish I had a bigger fridge! Kohlrabi coming out next. I've got 4 cabbage heads to deal with (maybe kraut?) and peas up the ying-yang with my longest row about two weeks behind the trellised versions. So assorted planting and harvesting today along with some lawn mowing action. At least the weather is cooperating with it being overcast and somewhat cooler today.

bio security is very important! I wish more would follow it here
