here they get parrots or parrot-lets drunk on Corn soaked in whisky or tequila.... then wrapped i burlap and packed in spare tires....

Never mind ill ness some of them were super endangered... some didn't survive the handling. Border patrol has Animal control on call of cases like that. The ones that survived were taken by animal control and quarantined properly then fostered and returned to the wild when possible...

smuggling across the border is big business. Tiger cubs, Birds.... People...

But I’ve watched that Animal Airport show on Netflix and some other similar shows and some of the zoo ones and forest ranger/state forest ones and stuff cause sometimes they have wild animals on there too and also on the border patrol type shows and it is sad what people try to smuggle in. And when they don’t make it watched one once with a shipment of all these chameleons and so many of them were soooo weak and dehydrated and a lot had died already and many more didn’t make it. so sad.

There are a lot of heartless, selfish, and/or greedy people in the world though so while it’s sad, it’s also not entirely surprising. This local-ish story from yesterday is a prime example.

Thanks cap but it's July 18....Then I LOVE to start celebrating early.

Busy busy busy busy...did I mention that the past two days have been busy? I'm slowly feeling better so I've been cramming as much into a day as I can trying to catch up.

The gender difference, Bruce occurs not in the length of the ureter going from kidney to bladder but in the length of the urethra going from bladder. Female's urethra is shorter than a males so the trip out of the body doesn't travel the same distance. Less distance=shorter duration of pain.

Guys I am so sold on container gardening at this point. I transplanted a tomato plant today into a bucket. It's a volunteer plant so I have no idea if it is a cherry or a beefsteak so I'll be surprised but next year our deck is going to be transformed into our garden. I mowed down the strawberry plants today. Out of sight out of temptation. I pulled a few remaining ripe ones and treated the chickens to them. Told them if they had gout attacks, I didn't want to know about it!

Gotta agree, you have to love living in an area where the cops don't want you to bother them unless there are dead bodies involved. Everything else is just farmer business so deal with it.

Yes! Some infected chickens have been move out of the New Castle Quarantine areas. It is hard to get rid of if people do that

How about coddled eggs.... One day I want to try that....

I have seen egg coddlers that can hold about a half dozen eggs. each little cup has a handle and the whole thing rests in a grid.... and it has a lid to keep the heat and steam in...

but you can coddle eggs in small mason jars ..... or even coffee cups
Just have to be put under heat and steam.

You can also poach eggs in any liquid like Tomato juice or Butter....

That's what I'm talking about!
Grandmas was just a pain aluminum one with a lid, but it held a dz, she had a big family. It had removable holders, held them above the water, and steamed them. Just like poached eggs but kept them perfect. I used it many times when I moved into her house for a few yrs after high school, (she lived with a boyfriend older gent at the time lol).
Wish I still had it.
I didn't know about using vinegar for regular poached until I moved in with DW, makes a huge difference. Keeps the whites together.
