It's already 92, feels like 106 68% humidity. It's like walking into a very hot steam bath when you walk out the door. People are losing chickens down here due to this heat, and humidity. The fans just blow really hot air around. I'm so glad I put in the misting system. It really does help a lot.

Depends on the state where you live's definition of safe and sane, Ron. BINGO! You just discovered one of the reasons we LOVE Missouri and live here. One year we bought a big mortar display and shot it off. Got it on the July 4th clearance sale at the local fireworks store. Amazing! Is all I can say. They looked like the picture below....without the 'I love Fireworks' emoji that is.

So much fun to do them on your own. Missouri wants people to use their common sense and practice safe handling of fireworks. You can't open a news paper without seeing an article about it. We always follow strict safety precautions including keeping a bucket of water and a sprayer handy. So far, we still have all our fingers and toes.

Think about it Bruce, if everything potentially hazardous is banned, what is left? Life is dangerous in itself. Even if banned, people will find a way and not all those who find a way are going to do things as suggested. We are human. We are fallible by nature. Still what is life without risk and what is the 4th of July without fireworks? People are already forgetting what the birth of this great nation is about and what those brave men and women suffered to free this newly born country from the tyranny (at the time) of British rule.

I'd hate to think that fireworks, symbol of; 'the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there!' be lost forever due to the 'safety police'.

Now y'all have a great 4th, or as great as you are allowed to have in your particular state. Me? I'm gonna go shoot off my cannon! Finger and toe count will be reported at a later date!

I'm not saying they should be made illegal, just wondering if the papers run articles on firework safety as well as examples of what happens when you don't follow that advice.

Don't play with fireworks children. Wait until the adults, who have been drinking, and partying all day, show you how it's done....

Legal or not, they will fire them off. I don't care as long as it is not on my land. In FL they used to land on our roof, thanks neighbors...
