The Old Folks Home

Again, germs are going to mutate anyway, no matter what. It's what they do. Even if all antibiotics were banned all over the planet for the next 60 years, in 60 years plenty of today's germs would have naturally mutated enough, that most of today's treatments would be useless, including antibiotics.

My daughter, and I had an interesting discussion. In 300 years from now, the viruses, and diseases, for the most part, would be radically different from the ones we face today. Just like now, many illnesses, and ailments that were serious in yesteryear, are harmless, or have been eradicated now. In 300 years, I suspect a lot of what we face today, will be things of yesteryear. In that time, there will be diseases, and illnesses they will face, that we've never even heard of.
There is some exciting news coming out of the new version of CRISPR. The indication is that it will be able to identify and help our immune system kill viruses and bacteria.

Things will be drastically different in 300 years in ways we cannot fathom now

It is still happening with measles. Samoa had 6 people die recently from measles and now there is a law that all must be vaccinated for school there

I think it’s a law here too but a lot of people still don’t do it. :( they just had a thing about it on the news last week I think it was.

NY City had some success this Fall with getting more up to date for school.

The exemptions are the problem in may places-- Dr.s making money off it too

That’s good!! Yeah I think this one said there’s some free clinic or something so they got a lot of kids updated.

But yes I think the exemptions are medical or religious reasons... well.... anybody can just claim religious reasons and I don’t think they can question it!!!

But I think a lot of people also don’t have the money and don’t know about these free clinics so I guess a lot more people have been getting them now.

Call the local health dept. They will provide a list of clinics that provide free vaccines. Usually, they will update vaccines for adults too. I got my last tetanus shot (booster maybe?) that way. I was with my daughter, taking one of the grands for their vaccines, or boosters. They handed me a checklist, and asked if I was up to date. Didn't cost a thing.
