Yeah it definitely seems like a waste. I hope they use them but idk if they can when they’re gassed?

I know they’re not pets but it’s still senseless and sad. They could have been made into pet food or something instead of just gassing them all. And they also gave the farmers basically no warning. Just called the night before and showed up the next morning. That’s the farmers livelihood too and they had a contract until at least the fall. I get that it’s expensive to feed them and it’s unusual circumstances and all that, everybody’s trying to do their best or whatever, but it’s still pretty shitty to just show up and gas 60 thousand plus birds with no warning and not even use the bodies. Livestock or not. And just because they’re livestock doesn’t mean we can’t be sad about the loss of life, even if they were being utilized. I had to put a cockerel down recently and even though I knew it had to be done (he was sick), it was still sad. It’s a living thing

I just had enough frustration calling to get things reset on the mortgage companies site ..
gave me 3 different phone number to call or 12.00 to pay bu phone ...
after 20 minutes on the phone found a human she reset if I was in .. explained very frustrated no not Covid19 getting a human .. I really do hate automated world today

The one I use is like that (but a trashcan with 5 ports)

Fantastic! Zero waste with pellets or crumbles... everyone can eat out of it except for chicks.... they can get stuck in there... I haven't had that happen, and I flock raise, I just toss out feed for the chicks when they are too little for thepotato feeder.

I use those kind as well but with shorter body. Each can hold 25 lbs of feed. The space between the short pan and the tall wall is pretty small so they cant get in there to do anything but eat.

I free feed too. At the time I had poultry I would fill those containers about once a week for the high population cage and once a month for the Odds... Cockrels and a couple of Silkeys and such.

My poultry house (not built yet) will have four partitions and a Sickbay. Guinea fowl, egg layer assortment, Muscovys, and maybe a pair of Turkeys for entertainment.

So my feed bill will go up accordingly.
