There is always room at the old folks home!!My name is Jan and I'm in north central Texas. Are you still open for new people? I have been a member for a couple of years but not very active until the last couple of weeks. We got 15 new chickens to add to an existing flock of 8. They are separated right now until we make sure they are healthy. I think they may have come from a "chicken mill". Is there such a thing? We don't know what breed they are we are kind of new to chicken collecting.
The post you quoted was from 3 years ago. @getaclue is still with us and doing well!!!!So sorry. Here's a virtual hug from me to you.

IMHO I think you should get rid of those chains and invest in some rope. You can get low stretch rope with a 13,000 pound breaking strength, WAY more than the HEAVY HEAVY chains you are dragging around. And with the proper pulley you can change the direction of pull.We generally use tow straps and chains. 6,000 pound pull strength on the chains which means they are a pain to pull around.
Not to mention it would probably take years!!!The post you quoted was from 3 years ago. @getaclue is still with us and doing well!!!!
This is a thread where it is best not to try to catch up from the beginning since things change for people.
Or a HECK of a lot of dedicated "I'm not doing anything until I have read every post on the Old Folks Home thread. This post should be #108,000. At 10 posts per page that is 10,800 pages! Not to mention it would probably take years!!!![]()
