The Old Folks Home

My name is Jan and I'm in north central Texas. Are you still open for new people? I have been a member for a couple of years but not very active until the last couple of weeks. We got 15 new chickens to add to an existing flock of 8. They are separated right now until we make sure they are healthy. I think they may have come from a "chicken mill". Is there such a thing? We don't know what breed they are we are kind of new to chicken collecting.
There is always room at the old folks home!!
:hugs So sorry. Here's a virtual hug from me to you.

The post you quoted was from 3 years ago. @getaclue is still with us and doing well!!!!
This is a thread where it is best not to try to catch up from the beginning since things change for people.

We generally use tow straps and chains. 6,000 pound pull strength on the chains which means they are a pain to pull around.
IMHO I think you should get rid of those chains and invest in some rope. You can get low stretch rope with a 13,000 pound breaking strength, WAY more than the HEAVY HEAVY chains you are dragging around. And with the proper pulley you can change the direction of pull.
