Hey, Wisher...How old do you have to be to come into this group...@81, I am hoping that I qualify. Live in VA but in my earlier life, I milked cows in Indiana, raised kids in OH, NY, NJ & VA...now just have a husband with his garden, 2 cats and 8 young lady chickens at 15 weeks old...waiting for eggs.

I know that one! I had Nuit in the buster a few weeks ago when she couldn't walk one morning. After about a week in there Angel went broody so I stuck her in the "spare coop" stall with Nuit, no nest box there. Another few days and I decided Nuit had healed from whatever had gotten her down, let her out and put Angel in the buster. She came out 3 days ago, Betty went in last night


Good thing Mama wasn't around or that little pup might have gotten a hard kick to the head or body!


It only takes one outsider or one insider that went out and came back.


I believe that makes you the "Elder Statesperson"! Though the oldest in years on the planet, you might not be the oldest of body

My top hen Maria has gone broody; time to see what hatching eggs are available locally...

The rain here yesterday was so intense that there were flash floods all over the place, including a few miles away on and around roads I drive frequently. Feel really sorry for the poor folks inundated, including one salon that was just ready to reopen The EA says it needs to replace old drainage pipes with larger capacity ones to cope with the increased volume of water dumped from the clouds these days. A quantitative sign of climate change
