Good morning OF. Nice and cool this morning with a cool breeze.

Dd #1 took the grandbaby to the hospital last night. For about a week, her eyes have been looking bad. She got her kid markers, and decided to use them like makeup. While it didn't appear she got any in her eyes, she did get it around her eyes, like eyeshaddow. Not a big deal. It washed off, when she took her bath that night. Her eyes were a little red, and puffy. It looked like possible allergies. She's had that before (pollen), and has eye drops for it. We did that. It seemed to help a little at first, but after the third day of treatmemt, it got worse. At that time, I said it looked more like pinkeye than allergies. We did the salt water. At first it helped, a lot, then after 3 days, it got worse. Last night, her eyes looked horrible, even after doing salt water. She has pinkeye, allergies, and a bacterial infection in her eyes all at the same time. She's got the medicines now, to treat all 3 at once. She has been warned not to use the markers on her face again. They may not have been the full cause of it, or maybe they were, but they definitely contributed to the problem.
This morning, Dh is off to the doctor's office. Yes, his fever came back when he stopped taking Motrin. He's so afraid it might be Covid.
We had a tv in the livingroom, and one in the bedroom, when my daughter & kids moved in. She had her own tv. Several months ago, her tv bit the dust. We never use the tv in the bedroom, so we used it to replace hers. Dh figured if he's got Covid, he will have to self quarantine away from the rest of the family. I told him he can self quarantine in the bedroom, if he has to. Oops, no tv in there. We looked at both Best Buy, and Walmart. Big screen, 4k UHD tv's are on sale, and at a terrific price, but they don't have them in the stores. You have to order them, then they will deliver them to the store, and you can pick them up on the specified date. I took a chance, and headed to the local Walmart. Nope. Plenty of the 50", a couple 55", but not the big ones, that were advertised on sale. I talked to a clerk, and he went to check the back. 2 big ones came in on the truck that morning, and had not been put out on the shelf yet. There was a 65" Samsung, and a 70" Vizio. I got the Vizio. The price was great, and it was available. They loaded it up for me, and home we came.
We got all the tv's moved, and hooked up, then Dd, and I began unpacking, and setting up the new one. It wasn't that difficult, and we had it up, and ready in no time. Plugged it in, and the set-up menu started. I have a Sony receiver for my surround sound system. During the set up, it found the reciever, and configured itself so the remote can be used for volume with it. (It has a feature that automatically turns the tv speakers on, or off, as needed). That way I don't have to grab the other remote to adjust the volume for tv, and movies, but it switches to the tv speakers when we turn on the nintendo game cube.
During the set up, it wanted to connect to the wi-fi, but I skipped it. I skipped setting up the voice activation for the remote, and tv too. After I got everything set up, I couldn't set the time on the clock, or get any updates without connecting into the wi-fi, so I connected it. I pushed the button for it to find, and install updates.
It did. After the updates, I repeated the process. Yes, there was another update. A big one. That finally downloaded, and installed. Oh carp.
All these streaming services, Netflix, Hulu, etc., are front and center on the main screen. To get rid of them, I had to go to input, and change to the input for the cable box. I got notices my viewing would be monitored for specific ads, etc. I had to agree to the Google TOS, for internet. I don't want all these things. All I want is the tv. I figured I'd turn it all off when I got finished downloading updates, and time set up, right? Um, nope.
There is no setting to turn off the wi-fi. I began reading all the instructions. Nope, no way to turn it off. Ahhhhhhhhhhh, but there is a factory reset. Yes, that worked. It did not wipe out my updates, date, and time, since they were already installed. It did reset everything, including the wi-fi. I got it turned off. Dh is a little miffed at me about it. He's a big technology buff, but I showed him where, when everything is turned on, it send information to advertisers, based on what you watch, and gears advertising aimed at you. It reports other things too. Nope, I don't need my tv spying on me. I won't get an Alexa, or Siri either. I'm even cautious, and aware of my cell phone too. No, I'm not paranoid that the government is listening, or collecting information. I'm concerned that in today's age, there are hackers that illegally obtain information, and sell it. IF it was worthless, they couldn't sell it, could they? It's the criminal element I'm more concerned about.

Dh just got back from the doctor. Yes, he has a few Covid antibodies. We already knew that. No, they're not sure he's got it again, but they tested him. I began asking him questions. Did they test for A & B type flu too? Nope. Did they give you anything to address your current symptoms? Robitussin DM. That's it. They'll get the results of his test in on Monday. If he gets worse, come back in, or go to the hospital.
It's like the old saying "if you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail".
I'm also getting sick, and tired of hearing that this is the "new normal". NO, it's not. The world, and parts of it, have faced pandemics before. While we may have to endure it for now, sooner or later, it will resolve itself in at least one of several ways.

BTW, if I get sick, I think I will go to one of my doctors, that are more familiar with my situation, and not afraid to be a bit more proactive, including being able to give hydroxychloroquine, and a Z-pack.

FDA has dropped recommendation on this. Check out new information on Dexamethasone treatment. I was not going to respond to the symptoms of your grandbaby not wanting to cause concern, but with added information: Early on SIL and daughter became very ill after he returned from a business trip to Europe, grandson became seriously ill and was tested for flu with negative results. One of their symptoms was pink eye. Their family doctor has since told them that has been added to the symptom list for Covid. They have not been antibody tested yet, but plan on doing so when testing is more readily available. Thinking of you and yours.
UPDATE: The coffee maker we got by mistake, I'm really liking it now. After I got used to the weight, and could tell how much coffee was left in the carafe, I have to admit, it's fantastic.

I can, and have taken Dexamethasone before. Good to know. I was already going to say, I would get prednisone, or another steroid, if needed, as well.

If DH thinks he should self isolate away from the rest of the family IF he has Covid, shouldn't he already be doing that until he gets the test results?
