The Old Folks Home

50 here, but a slight drizzle with it..
On another note, this young fella hatched yesterday with curled toes and legs that just didn't want to function properly.. I've been giving him B-1 + in water every few hours.. he likes drinking little drops off my finger or the dropper itself.. 36 hours and the toes are getting straighter and he's more upright in the leg department. I'm super happy about that, so the weather takes backseat for now!View attachment 2527838
She is very cute!

With all this cold wintery weather, how about cooking some bone broth? A friend has breast cancer and the chemo gives her the runs. She asked me what to drink. After many years of crohn's for both my husband and I, my go to is bone broth with some veggies. Some of my favorite meats/bones are pig legs (they have lots of gel) and turkey, chicken or pork necks. Then I puree the veggies to make a delicious broth. I never cooked it 24 hours but my friend got herself some marrow bones and simmered them for a whole day. Any body else out there make your own bone broth?

That's how I start my soups, simmering bones.

Ok, all bets are on! I think it's Prince's brother, but if it ends up being his sister I would be thrilled. Just wait 10 weeks or so.
The hatched chicks are always pullets until they prove to be cockerels!

Optimism of course....
