The Old Folks Home

here's an episode for you, assuming this youtube will play there! Enjoy :D
Perris,
I was watching this, with my headphones on, when everyone in the household began yelling at me. Even though I had my headphones on, sound was coming out of the speakers. Hmmmmm. I know some of my drivers recently updated, so I figured it was that. I downloaded an older version of the audio drivers, and tried to uninstall the newer ones, then put in the older ones. With Windows 10, that can be a process, because Windows wants to do everyone's thinking for them, and install what it wants, which is updated drivers. After fighting Windows, I got the drivers in. That didn't fix the problem.

As I began playing with things, I noticed the power button for the speakers, didn't turn them off. The volume knob didn't do anything either. No, it wasn't the drivers. The controls for the speakers died. They were over 10 years old, so I guess I got my money's worth.

Dh told me to look at PC speakers. I checked with PC World Magazine, and Tom's Hardware online. All the speakers PC World recommended were between $300.00 to $900.00 (none of them surround sound). They've lost their minds. Tom's hardware had a wider price range of recommendations. 2 of the ones they considered to be very good 2.1 speakers were Logitech. I mentioned them to Dh, so he loaded me, and my grandson up in the car, and we went to town, to Best Buy. We wanted to listen to them before buying, if possible. I got the Logitech Z625 speakers. They were on sale too, so we paid around $129.00 for them.

We then went to Red Lobster. After all that, we came home, and I had the fun job of removing the old stuff (easy part), then getting all the new cords dropped behind the desk, snagging them, and getting them all plugged in. Finally I got it all done. They sound so nice. Then I plugged in my headphones. Yup, the sound came through them, and not the speakers. I'm a happy camper.

I have you, and your funny video to thank for being the reason I have a new speaker system. I got to finish listening to it, and a good laugh too.

I was finally able to order the foundation make up I had mentioned in an earlier post. Dd #1 had me order hers too. It took about a week to arrive. The day it came, we had already showered, scrubbed our faces, etc. in anticipation. Gotta love being able to track deliveries now. Around 1:30 pm it arrived. We opened it up, squirted some on one finger to put in a few spots on our faces, and used make up sponges to smooth it on. It doesn't FEEL like there's anything there. Are you sure there's makeup on your face? Looking close in the mirror, and you can not really see any makeup. BUT you can sure tell it's there. How? Through the years of being in the sun, there are small areas on my face that are slightly darker, like they're weathered. Not exactly splotchy, and not dark spots, but definitely a bit uneven. Suddenly, that was gone. I had perfectly even skin tones. Even small wrinkles, and fine lines were the same color as the rest of the face, so they were minimized in appearance. WOW! Impressive.

I continued with my normal routines for the rest of the day. After supper, I looked again. NOTHING had changed. It looked exactly the same. Doing chores, and perspiring did not make it slide, or run to build up in the fine lines on my face. I didn't remove it, but slept in it. Not something I normally do, but it's not suppose to transfer, so I figured that was a good test. I just knew it would be on my pillowcase the next morning. Nope. Nada. I ran to look in the mirror. Yes, it looked just like it did when I first applied it.

After breakfast, I headed to the shower. It came off with my face cleanser. The nice even, smooth, skin color it imparted washed off. Now for the real test. I've waited 3 days, checking for blemishes, zits, blackheads, etc. NOTHING. I've never worn any foundation before, that I didn't get at least a little break out a couple days later, but this stuff hasn't. I'm amazed.

No, I don't wear makeup often, but there are times I do have to dress up some, or look extra nice. I'm so glad I found out about this stuff. I've never used anything like it, and it works PERFECTLY on older skin like mine too.

Sounds like that stuff you airbrush on. I hardly ever wear make up, but my eye brows are disappearing. Might have to draw some on.

It is good to see you here!

That would be awesome if you could help. BYC members are the best!
Thank you kindly! Have I met you before? Can't remember, old memory.

You would be welcome to the wood, we don't burn pine except in bonfires. I was Wishing I had a sawmill to make lumber out of it.
I would but unfortunately I'm ways away . We do burn pine but you have to clean the chimney often. Someone once said " fences make good neighbors, but being a helpful neighbor is better then a fence"

Sawmills are awesome machines ,Expensive but with lumber prices being so high they pay for themselves in no time. My uncle use to have one. He would justify it as a business investment.

Oh man, Cap, I looked at mine this morning and thought....they are falling out! Why are my eyebrows falling out? I got out the color brush and brushed what I have but it ain't much and I don't think I'll be able to pass off penciling some in with a stencil and magic marker. May have to do like they used to do Spock's upswept eyebrows on Star Trek. Save hair clippings and buy a bottle of gum glue!

Well we survived the great freeze of 2021. Only got two roosters with frost bite on their waddles every one else is fine. DH got the driveway plowed yesterday. The roof snow is melting today as it finally got over 35! They are calling for over 50 at some point in time.

Better news is that we tested out my Momma Heating Pad and in spite of what the directions and box say, it does stay on for continuous heat. YAY! Now all I needs is some chicks to stick under it!

My eyebrows started disappearing at the ends. I've read that can be from thyroid problems. Well I don't care for that reason and doubt it. Someone(NOT a woman) said I should shave my eyebrows off. I wanted to tell the 'not a woman' to shave his "things" off.

But I was so bored sheltering at home I shaved them off anyway. They are taking a very long time to attempt a re-birth. Who cares, the very best parts of me are under wraps while I wonder if his parts are kept clean, sanitary and free of horrible diseases. I seriously doubt it only because in his mind he is perfect in every way. Cough, cough, I think I hacked up a hair ball!!:lau

BTW I seem to be having a re-birth at 73.5 and loving it so much I may decide to hang around for another 10-20 years or so. Why not?
