Perris, here's an episode for you, assuming this youtube will play there! Enjoy
I was watching this, with my headphones on, when everyone in the household began yelling at me. Even though I had my headphones on, sound was coming out of the speakers. Hmmmmm. I know some of my drivers recently updated, so I figured it was that. I downloaded an older version of the audio drivers, and tried to uninstall the newer ones, then put in the older ones. With Windows 10, that can be a process, because Windows wants to do everyone's thinking for them, and install what it wants, which is updated drivers. After fighting Windows, I got the drivers in. That didn't fix the problem.
As I began playing with things, I noticed the power button for the speakers, didn't turn them off. The volume knob didn't do anything either. No, it wasn't the drivers. The controls for the speakers died. They were over 10 years old, so I guess I got my money's worth.
Dh told me to look at PC speakers. I checked with PC World Magazine, and Tom's Hardware online. All the speakers PC World recommended were between $300.00 to $900.00 (none of them surround sound). They've lost their minds. Tom's hardware had a wider price range of recommendations. 2 of the ones they considered to be very good 2.1 speakers were Logitech. I mentioned them to Dh, so he loaded me, and my grandson up in the car, and we went to town, to Best Buy. We wanted to listen to them before buying, if possible. I got the Logitech Z625 speakers. They were on sale too, so we paid around $129.00 for them.
We then went to Red Lobster. After all that, we came home, and I had the fun job of removing the old stuff (easy part), then getting all the new cords dropped behind the desk, snagging them, and getting them all plugged in. Finally I got it all done. They sound so nice. Then I plugged in my headphones. Yup, the sound came through them, and not the speakers. I'm a happy camper.
I have you, and your funny video to thank for being the reason I have a new speaker system. I got to finish listening to it, and a good laugh too.
