I found with mine, the older they got, the more sociable they are. But Henri my BR Cockerel didn't stand a chance since he was lame after an injury.. hehe.. he got to loving it though. Now Bonny my BO is my go to lap kid, and Henrietta, got her share of lap-time (forced but agreeable) this morning while I checked her foot. Funny, Muffin's my 'pretend' EE would run to me when anyone picked on her.. she'll come up for treats, but.. kinda like.. nah I don't want to be cuddled now.I had a heel of bread left over, so I took it out for extra special chickie snack. They'll do anything for it. One of them stood next to me long enough to pet a few times before she jumped down and away.
I want to make the chicks I get in June a little more lap chicken-ish. Really would like to have more interaction with them. The ones it have come to the door when I come up to the run, but nobody gets on my lap for petting or cuddles.
