Oh @CSolis avoid the Prolia like poison if you can. Once they get you on it you are pretty much s*****d.
I have been taking it for three years now and in all honesty I don't know which is worse, the side effects or a broken hip. My doctor tells me the broken hip is and if it happens it's a life changer. But I can't take the orals. They upset my stomach too much so he said I have to take SOMETHING because my osteo is too advanced.
IMHO if you can find another mode of treatment do it. Have you looked up Prolia? Medicare will pay for all but 220$ which you have to pay but read about the side effects. Trust me. Everything you read is true. I've had extreme fatigue, joint and muscle pain, weight loss, nasal congestion, sore throat and loss of voice, skin infections, bladder irritation....the list goes on and on. I begged the doctor to DC it. I respect and like my doc so I can tell him what I think about something and he will listen. He asked me if the side effects were bad enough for me to go to the ER or were they just messing with my quality of life. I had to sigh and say the latter. Truthfully, when the side effects aren't flaring, you don't know that you are taking the drug but from what I've read, it's very few that don't have side effects.
I don't blame you feeling the way you do about doctors. One you trust is worth his or her weight in gold.
