The Old Folks Home

The kids are finished with their school work for today. Time for me to decompress. I'm not cooking tonight. Not my job on this day. It's been sprinkling out all day. Actually, the temp is really nice out, but can't get much work done because of the rain. It's a Catch 22 situation.

I've seen those. Do they have a specific name, so I know what I'm looking for?
Try using the least restrictive method to begin with. If you go loaded for bear, the dog will react in kind. You say she's sweet and responsive so give her a chance. What may be right for a larger dog may not be right for her. I doubt she has the bullheadedness of a pug. Some dogs are just obnoxious that way.

Thanks. I have a Martingale collar that works well, so far. When I walk her in the morning, I am working on having her beside me, not pulling, and she's getting the idea.

When we all go -- DH has the leash when we go after he gets home -- he lets her run ahead. I know she's getting conflicting messages.:hmm

I'm hoping that she learns to walk "easy" with mom. "Easy" is my word for not pulling, walking with slack in the leash. We can stop for sniffs -- it's her chance to do that, and the walk is for her enrichment, exercise, and potty opportunities.

Besides, I'm not going to sniff the stuff on the ground. That's her job.

Ida's remnants and a stalled front are at work in our area. Roads are closed due to rising creeks. Yesterday and this morning we were at the farmers market where we have a stand. Most valuable items came home and everything else either went on top of tables or higher. The last 2 floods two years ago brought water up to the table tops, warping our tables. I placed sand bags outside the door. I was told sand bags won't help this time... But they were there so why not use them. Cleaning up after a flood is no fun job! There is a creek on either side of the market and they are predicting the Conestoga Creek will get us. Now we stay home, charge our phones, get flash lights ready....
Looks pretty nasty up there in Lancaster county.
