The Old Folks Home

They know it is still going to be cold up here!

Though I've seen some robins, which is crazy this time of year. I have no idea what they will eat because there surely are no bugs.
Here you go back in the timber this time of the year and you'll find Robins hunting down dried berries in bushes. Not sure if they are Service Berries but I've eaten them and they are good. I imagine dried the sugar is condensed quite a bit.

Tonight when I went out to lock up the coop there was a robin singing in the big fir tree by our house, Geese were honking to the south, it had just stopped raining and smelled like spring. and yep, we still have a winter storm warning out for tomorrow and -1 tomorrow night. Today it was 60. Crazy weather.

We went on an outing today. First stop was at Sam Ashe, for a subwoofer, and mixing board for Dh. He's happy now.

Second stop was at another Ford dealership. No joy. Tomorrow I'll do the "build your own" on their website, as has been suggested by at least 2 dealerships now.

Funny thing about the dealership we went to today. We checked their inventory, and they were suppose to have at least 1 truck, that is exactly what I'm looking for, and another that is very close to having everything I want. When you click on the truck, you can click on the window sticker for that truck. The sales guy couldn't find it on his computer. Dh pulled it up from their website on his phone, and gave the guy the VIN number. Ahhh, yes they have that one, BUT it's a Demo. Meaning? Well, if someone comes in for repairs on a new vehicle, that is going to take a few days to get the parts in, and get it fixed, it's what they give the customer as a loaner.

Ok, I know the one I want is hard to find, so IF the Demo is in decent shape, it's not a problem. Can I look at it? Nope, it's not on the lot. Well, when will it be on the lot? Not sure. Ok, can you call me when it's returned to the lot, so I can come see it? No. Why not? It's the Demo truck. The ad says it's for sale, and it has a price. Is it for sale, or isn't it? Well, they don't usually list the Demo for sale, until after it's been replaced with another Demo vehicle, so it will be sold, but can't be sold now.

The second truck we mentioned, we also gave him the VIN number, and showed him the window sticker image with the features listed. Nope, he knows that truck does NOT come with the features shown in the image of the window sticker. He's not sure why the image is different from the actual window sticker.

They have 1 truck that has the main feature I want, according to the window sticker image on HIS computer, and most of the other features, BUT it has cloth seats instead of leather, and it's a 3.5 V6 instead of a 5.0 V8. We look at it. Um, the window sticker shown on his computer, is not the same as the one on the vehicle. It's a 2.7, not a 3.5, for starters. The features listed on his computer, are not what are listed on the actual window sticker on the truck.

Have no fear, I'm not doing business with any dealership that shows one window sticker online, and in their own computer data system, yet a different one is on the actual truck, not once, but twice. Once can be a fluke. Twice, and I smell a rat. Not to mention that they listed the Demo truck for sale, but couldn't sell it then.

We headed for IHop after the truck hunt, then headed home. Another interesting thing was waiting for us at home. The Fed-ex guy had dropped off a couple packages. I commented that the big one looked like a monitor. Maybe Dell got his new one shipped out sooner than expected. Dh assured me they could not have possibly had enough time to do that. Yes, it's a monitor. Yes, it's from Dell. Yes, it has our address. No, it does not have Dh's name on it. It has someone else's name.

Dh brought it in, and set it up. Nope, it's not his monitor. His monitor is still scheduled to be made, and will be here by the end of March. Dh thinks they sent a monitor for him to use for a month, while his is being made. I hope so. I hope they didn't get the wrong address, and some poor guy is sitting there waiting on his monitor. Regardless, it's become a "Demo" now.

Building your own truck can mean the truck won't be in your possession for 6 month
