The Old Folks Home

Our nice weather is done. No more sunny 70s. It's raining now, and it'll start acting more like mid-fall than late summer.

One of my neighbors and I have been swapping dirt. Yup, the digging with a shovel kind. She wants some sand for better drainage, and is giving me some A++ chicken run compost that has packed down.

Next year, I think I will have an absolutely awesome garden! That run poop/compost looks so rich, I almost want to eat it (not really :sick), so I bet the plants will love it.

Remember I was having trouble with one of the mirrors on my new truck? Well, they replaced the mirror, and it was supposed to be fixed. Um, NOT. I carried it in while it was messed up, and had the head of the service dept. see that it was still not working correctly. The head of the service dept. said they would put yet another new mirror on it. I mentioned that while it's possible they put on a new mirror with the same defect, it seemed rather unlikely. He agreed, and set my appointment for yesterday morning.

They had the head Ford corp. people on the phone, helping them go through it, and troubleshoot it. (KY?) Anyway, we got a call yesterday evening that it was going to take another day. Today they're going to replace some of the electrical stuff, and electronics in it. There's more wrong than just the mirror. No big surprise here about that. Remember, I had said the mirror glitch seemed to be part of a chain of events?

It is nice to know they're really taking the problem seriously, and going up the ladder to resolve the issue, instead of just scratching their heads, and pooh poohing it off. Hopefully, when they get it all fixed this time, it will really be fixed.

Not Halloween decorations but what my tomato bed looked like after the first frost the other night. The basket of tomatoes harvested beforehand are small and green, looking like tomatillos.
