The Old Folks Home

A friend of mine had breast implants inserted. She was having health issues and decided they needed to be removed. The implants were black with some sort of fungal growth, inside and out! Silicone in the body is nasty!
Should I ever need a mastectomy, I'm "going flat." You never hear about that as an option.

20 years ago I was walking on a treadmill with a beautiful view 10-12 miles after work at a desk job. I was getting in shape to climb Pikes Peak. It was supposed to be a Fathers Day hike with my oldest son. It snowed during the night. We took the Cog Rail Car up to the top and planned on just hiking down. Once on the top and saw the sheet of ice on the trail going down we thought better of it and rode back down. It was still a good adventure that day.

I am going to have fun picked up a new cockerel from a member today.
Very spirited.

I'm so sad about losing one of my new boys to a night predator. One of two quite handsome Easter Eggers. Both had been handled a lot and it showed. I could pick either up while out with them free ranging. That's my kind of roo.
Sorry for the loss. I really hate predators. Lots of rabbits out there for them to eat.

We have a hot one on tap again today. Upwards of a 100° again today as we start to close out July. August is looking to be a little cooler than July has been. Those 15° temps we had back in the winter don't look so bad now. Lots of Record lows I think took place this last winter. I remember back in the 70's and early 80's living way out in the mid west when we had a very cold winter it seemed we had a very hot summer following. One summer my wife nearly died from asthma then when the temp was over a 100 every day for a month and the nights were unbearable in the new house we built and no one told us that we might want to put in an HVAC system in what we had built. We were worried about heat at the time and rightfully so. Until that summer we didn't need AC. The nights were cool enough to sleep until then. Today we rest up and get ready to take on the world again tomorrow.
