The Old Folks Home

Nope but it is going to be COLD Sat - Mon. Lows near or maybe below 0°F!!!!!
We were way above normal last week so I guess we have to pay for it by being way below next week.

Actually .... we aren't supposed to ask people's age on BYC. Mostly to protect the minors I think. So you did right!!

Stay downstairs!!!!

Yep, proven time and again the best way for a heavy person to gain weight is to go on a weight loss diet. Lose a lot of weight fairly quickly and you are almost guaranteed to gain it all back with interest.

Lose a little, let your body get used to the "new normal" so it doesn't go into "I'm starving must eat" mode. Then do it again, just like the 100 pound loss person.
Oh wow that’s cold! It was like 57 here on Saturday lol and now they’re saying it might be rain snow mix lol

And that makes sense! Thanks!

Their starving must eat thing happens to me all the time even if I don’t even diet just eat very slightly less 😭🤣

Good morning, OF. Time to leave my rocking chair and move some snow around.
So, tell yourself you want to lose 5 pounds. And do that as many times as you need to/can/want to to get to the weight you want to be.

Any excess weight that you lose will help your body in many ways! Your joints will thank you, your heart will thank you. So will your liver and pancreas.

Saying, "I want to lose 70 pounds" is a daunting task! Five pounds is a very realistic goal.
Great advice.

Been dealing with my total knee replacement this last month. Surgery was fine and the doc did an excellent job, but -- owzer -- that first week post-op is brutal. Earned my Badass badge for sure. Anyway, doing my PT and not using a cane or walker now. My "good" leg is starting to protest, so probably heading to a knee surgery on the other leg sooner as opposed to later.
Husby has been doing my duties. I haven't seen my chickens in a month! Looking forward to my first grocery store outing after PT today.

I lost close to 40 lbs. to qualify for surgery (insurance mandates regulate via BMI whether a "go" or not). Friends have provided dinners for the two weeks following the operation, which was a godsend. Decided not to sweat all the sweets, gravy, butter, etc. Didn't gain any weight because healing is hard work, but it's getting to be time to get back on the GOLO program again. I would like to lose about 60 more pounds. Goals are important!
